The SpaceCub Crk Cabin is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. The Methow Valley is known for its beauty and outdoor recreation offerings. Cub Crk cabin is for the adventurous traveler. I have 17 very private acres that allow for complete relaxation and exploration. Hiking, mountain-biking, birding, skiing, snowshoeing and wildlife viewing is available right out the back door and throughout the entire valley. The cabin for rent has a loft bedroom and a small sitting area, laundry facilities and a private bathroom. If you choose an extended stay (over 5 days) I may need to use the laundry facilities but would schedule that time at your convenience. If you are booking for a week or longer, you may book your arrival/departure days on any day of the week other than a Saturday. There is only one cabin for rent so you will be the sole guests on the property. I live in a studio apartment on the property near by. In a separate building, the COOKHOUSE, which is straw-bale construction, there is a beautiful kitchen with gas range for cooking. Its a wonderful communal place (meaning I use it too) to hang out, listen to music, play games, and to cook and enjoy a meal. There is also an in-tune piano if you are musical. These building are small and cozy and I prefer to have only 1-2 guests on the property. I provide breakfast foods, plus the locally roasted coffee for your morning Joe. There is also a wood-fired sauna available for your use- perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Your dog is also welcome if they are polite to my dog and not too noisy. There is a one time $20 non-refundable fee, plus a refundable damage deposit of $100 (a Check is easiest) for your canine. Please bring a bed for them. No dogs are allowed on any of the furniture so if you don't think your dog is disciplined enough to stay off it, please leave Fido at home. In the summer, there is an outdoor bed available. It is a double size Murphy bed that pulls down from the outer wall of your cabin. Its super comfy and WOW! its a star-gazer's paradise! An outdoor shower is also available May-Oct. The cabin has an indoor shower, year 'round. Bring easy slip-on shoes to travel from one building to another and maybe a flashlight for ventures away from the lighted buildings. Guest AccessThis property is located 5 miles north of the town of Winthrop. There are art studios, an award-winning microbrew pub (Old Schoolhouse Brewery), The Rocking Horse Bakery, two well-equipped sports gear and rental shops and plenty of other places to shop. oh yes, and you have access to the entire North Cascade range and the Pasaytan Wilderness and more! Interaction with GuestsI am a busy gal and most of the time I am not around much when guests are here. That being said, I make an effort to be available when you need me to give suggestions of local places to visit, the best hiking trails etc. The cookhouse is a shared space so there have been times that I share a meal with guests, but usually, you have the place to yourself. I have appreciated the spirit of AIRBNB and how it provides travelers time with local residents, like myself. This is my home and I love to share it with respectful people so please remember, owner does live on site!! The NeighborhoodThere are no other houses within view of mine. It is a wonderful, private place. I have pine trees, tall grasses, sage, deer, chipmunks and birds for neighbors. Getting AroundNo public transport but its a nice 5 mile bike ride to town. Other Things to NoteA fire extinguisher is located next to the woodstove in the cook house and next to the washing machine in the cabin's laundry room. There are fire alarms in both the cabin and the cookhouse. There is also a CO2 detector directly above the bed. A First Aid kit is provided and stored in the bathroom.
