The SpaceThis ocean front cozy cabin is a private lot with access to the rocky and pebble mix ever changing landscape of the Bay of Fundy beach. It has everything and more for what you dream of having for a cabin on the ocean - come and see and you won't want to leave! It must be said that the waters are not meant for swimming in the summer - far too cold for most . However, the scenic view, sunsets, beach combing for sea life, mussel picking (oh yes a wonderful bed of fresh mussels) bon fire appeal, it is truly a wonderful place to relax. Every season has it's treasures. We are located approx 1 hour from the city of Halifax - and for most tourist attractions throughout central Nova Scotia - 1 to 2 hours max of driving. It has three bedrooms, one on the main level a 3/4 size bed, two upstairs one is a queen the other a double - also a cozy couch for someone else to curl up on in the living room. If you are looking for a true Nova Scotia cottage, rural experience, this is it. With a wood fireplace and newly installed heat pump, along with electric heaters, you will never be cold even in the dead of winter. We have a wonderful selection of music in cds for the stereo or records to play on the record player. TV for watching movies (no satellite or local tv though), books and games- even if it rains you'll have lots to do. We recently added an outdoor soaker tub for two - great for starry nights! (not available Jan-Mar). And most (URL HIDDEN) outdoor Pizza cook oven ! We've built this cabin ourselves. It truly has been a labour of love we have built for our family. It is the perfect spot for young and old alike. It has some very unique features that make for lots of fun with faux stained glass work, unique water access, funky ceilings, and so much more. All wood flooring except the bathroom - which is equipped with a shower but no tub. There is a washing machine (not available in winter) and clothes line. Down by the bluff, you'll find (2) two seater benches and a beach swing as well as a hidden sheltered area lit at night with mini lights - There is access to the beach but if you have "unstable/arthritic" knees, we will direct you just down the road to a very friendly entrance. (appox 1 min. drive from cottage) Fresh bedding (including the top blankets), towels, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, even a flat iron available - kitchen fully equipped including condiments, spices and standard baking supplies such as flour, sugar etc. - Barbeque on deck, lots of firewood for fireplace and outdoor pit (included in price). Just email us and we can let you know what we have. We also do offer special rates for families - no charge for children 10 and under! Ask us when you request a booking and we'll give you a special offer. Our goal has always been to make it affordable for families too! Just a two minute drive from the cottage you'll be at the harbour with a wonderful little German Restaurant with take out & ice cream which serves Canadian as well - and a local gift shop nestled in behind it. (This is a seasonal restaurant and closes September 30 for the winter) If you are looking for fresh lobster or scallops - depends on the catch but we have an inside track on a local fisherman we can share with you! And from Harbourville, you're only 40 minutes away from Hall's Harbour which is a must see and has more local crafts, a small take out and a lobster pound. In Berwick, (15 minutes ) you must take in an evening at the Union Street Cafe/Wick's Pub - check them out on the web - every Friday evening they have open mike night - which means if you are musically inclined, you can sign up to sing on stage for a couple songs - this is always hosted by local, more seasoned entertainers from the Valley and offers free mussels and garlic bread at 9 pm - The restaurant and pub menus offer food is second to none and the people are wonderful. They also have several selections on their menu for gluten free diets. So much to tell you but take too long to write - so firstly - if you have time enough ahead - get yourself a Doer's and Dreamers guide on the Nova Scotia tourism site. We do have one at the cabin for your use along with many local brochures etc. Another very good site for searching restaurants, local events etc of the Annapolis Valley just type in Annapolis Valley vacations and you'll find it - What makes us unique is the authenticity of it's Nova Scotia fishing community cottage - We are not a motel/hotel so if you are looking for white glove stay - this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a good old fashion Nova Scotia experience - this is it. We take a great deal of pride in having the place crisp and clean for you. There is so much to do and see you'll wish you stayed longer! Guest AccessWhile you are there, the cabin is yours to use as though it were your own. Interaction with GuestsWe are folks who love to meet new people but certainly respect if you are not. We do always like to meet briefly to show you the wonders, the "if, and, or but's" of our little paradise and maybe share a refreshment:) that is if your arrival time allows The NeighborhoodIn all the years we have spent at our cabin, we have always had full privacy, peace and quiet. We are very fortunate to have this private lot. Getting AroundOnce you get into the nearby town of Berwick (approx. 15 min away) - there is access to Kings Transit Bus and Taxi service - there are walking trails nearby as well. Let us know if this is an interest to you and we will provide you with more information. Other Things to NoteThere are several unique features that we do not advertise - makes it more fun for adults and young alike - so you'll just have to come and see what treasures await And 10 months of the year you can go mussel picking right in front of our cabin! We will advise you on safe picking seasons and tide changes.

This beautiful, four season Nova Scotia rental cottage is on Canada's Bay of Fundy, near Parrsboro. Everyone is welcome – multi-generation families with kids, small groups of friends & colleagues, couples, solitary travelers, and dogs – if visitors promise to keep them off the furniture. The only vacation rental property on the beach in Fox River – visitors to other vacation rental properties in the area have to drive to the beach. Our luxury cottage is located on a one-of-a-kind point of land on Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy - directly on two beaches, with the world's highest tides right at the doorstep. The east side of the cottage is on a stunning salt water marsh, which fills and empties with the tide – walk across the ocean floor at low tide & wonder how you did it when the tide comes in and completely covers where you walked! The south side is on a virtually deserted beach – go for long walks & treasure hunt for driftwood, shells & who else knows what you might find? The dining room is one of our favourite rooms. It is a huge room with windows on three sides, and so has beautiful ocean and marsh views any time of the day or night - the chandelier came from Toronto. Rates quoted below are maximum rates - contact owner for a quote. The dining room table was made locally - its legs are hand-turned. This table can easily sit ten people, and is great for dinner parties or for working on projects. The dining room chairs are all wood, and were all refinished for the Beach House. The kitchen has all new appliances - fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster and even a popcorn maker. The double sink makes meal preparation and clean-up easy, and you can look out the window over the sink as you prepare your meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with lots of dishes, including Dansk Arabesque, tea towels and so on. All you have to bring is your food! The kitchen counter tops are white ceramic tile. The kitchen is separated from the eating area by a bar, where you can work or sit on stools and watch the ocean. The sitting area has three walls of windows. The wood fireplace in the sitting area was made using rocks from the beach. All the pieces of furniture in the this area have stories. The bench which faces the fireplace was made by the owner's Dad in the 1950s. The office/bedroom on the main floor provides a quiet, private place for a visitors who do not want to climb stairs to the 2nd floor - the main floor bathroom is right next door & the sitting room has a satellite tv for private use. A drop leaf table is used as a desk, and a wash stand is used as a table for the fax machine. Connection to our wireless highspeed internet service is in the dining room - so that you can watch the view as the Bay of Fundy tides fill and empty the marsh. Everyone who visits the Beach House loves the sun room. This room originally was going to be a screened-in porch. However, during construction it turned out to be such a great room that it became a glassed-in sun porch. The bathroom on the main floor has a toilet, sink and a shower. The wainscotting is pine. Liz found the old medicine chest above the sink in her barn, and it was refinished for the Beach House. Open the door of the medicine chest, and you can see that its back was made from a tea chest. The master bedroom is a wonderful place for a peaceful sleep. The queen size bed is covered by a quilt made by Madge Yorke, Liz's Mum. There are lots of queen size pillows to make reading in bed comfortable. The second bedroom has two antique three-quarter beds, with new box springs and mattresses. The metal frame bed was Liz's maternal grandparents bed, and the spool bed came from her Dad's family. Each of the beds has a quilt and extra pillows. This bedroom has a custom made tall chest of drawers, and a refinished birch dresser. The upstairs bathroom is one of the most relaxing bathrooms you'll ever find. It has a pine ceiling and walls, and a spa bath. You can soak in the bathtub and look for miles up the marsh. From the upstairs sun room, you can walk out to a private balcony. The balcony is made with closed sides, so that it can be used on warm days throughout the year. An outdoor light makes it easy to use the balcony any hour of the day or night. Contact owner to discuss rate ranges; costs quoted are for 4 guests from January to end May and for 6 guests from June to October; extra charges apply for extra guests RATES QUOTED ARE THE HIGHEST RATES FOR THE TIME PERIOD; as there is flexibility within each time period, contact Liz Yorke (owner) or visit Beach House web site for more detailed information; rates vary from 800 CAD (lowest) to 3000 CAD (mid-summer weeks only).
