The SpaceGENERAL INFORMATION VILLA WOLMAR is a magnificent modern and elegant villa of 205 m², which has been decorated by an Interior Designer. Villa, No insight on Garden and Pool from outside. VILLA WOLMAR is located on the west coast in WOLMAR, 2 minutes away from Flic-en-Flac, close to the La Pirogue, Sugar Beach, Hilton and Sofitel hotels. The villa is at the entrance of the Wolmar Estate, a 600 hectare natural preservation area where 3000 stags, wild boar and monkeys live in a natural environment. The villa is 200m from the magnificent beach and the Wolmar lagoon, where swimming is compulsory!!! It consists of an American- style kitchen which gives on to the interior living room which is used as a TV room, a large veranda of 40m² which includes the outdoor living room and a dining table which seats 10, the master bedroom with its en-suite bathroom and dressing room, and 2 other bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 750m² garden which is beautifully fitted out with various and colourful plants, includes an 8mx4m salt water pool, and a car park at the back of the house. The garden is surrounded by a wall made up of superb demolition stones from ancient colonial houses, and you enter through an automatic gate with a code and a remote control. Outside is the garden storage room, the laundry room with the washing machine, and a technical room which includes the pump, the generator, as well as a toilet and sink for the house staff. VILLA WOLMAR has 2 double beds, 2 single beds and 2 baby cots. It can thus accommodate up to 6 persons and 2 babies maximum. 100m from the villa, you will find all the basic items you may require, as well as bread and newspapers. At 1.5 Km you will find the first restaurants or bars, a supermarket, pharmacy, bank, etc. HOUSEHOLD STAFF Is mainly made up of Stéphanie, the housekeeper, who is also an excellent cook, present 4hrs per day from Monday to Saturday (except for Bank holidays). It is up to you to arrange her time of arrival depending on your style of life. She will take care of the cleaning, the cooking and washing up, the laundry as well as the ironing -depending on the amount involved - and these services are included in the price of the villa. Tipping is at your discretion. Additional hours/baby sitting. You can arrange additional hours or baby sitting directly with her, while giving her minimum advance notice. For your information, the rate would vary between 3 to 5 Euros per hour if it is the weekend or a bank holiday. She speaks French very well, and can also get along in English. here is also a gardener 3 times a week in the afternoon, and the pool cleaner comes once a week as the pool has an automatic cleaning system. VARIOUS INFORMATION Caretaker The owner has hired the services of a caretaker who will meet you at your request on your arrival, and who will indicate good plans according to your preferences, will make your excursion reservations should you wish it, and will give you a cell phone with Rs. 200 credit to make calls from anywhere on the island if required, as well as a restaurant card giving you a 15% discount in affiliated restaurants (usually very good restaurants). The owner pays for this service, so you are not liable for any additional charges. Security - Alarm A security alarm with a shock alarm on every opening as well as movement detectors are installed in the house. The alarm is connected to a professional security company (Brinks). A pool alarm is also set aside and installed on request. The windows are equipped with iron bars. The veranda is equipped with a transparent electric rolling blind with a remote control. The sliding doors of the 2 master bedrooms and living room are fitted with removable security bars. Communication/TV ADSL WIFI Internet is available in the entire house. Wireless telephone for free local phone calls. Satellite TV is installed on the 37’ LCD screen with 20 channels and several radio stations. DVD player. Generator A 5.5Kva generator is set aside. It is sufficient enough to operate all the essential house equipment as well as the air conditioning during the night. Water Drinking water is available in the entire house. There is a 7500 L underground water reservoir, with a 3 bars pump. 2 water faucets in the courtyard with watering hoses. Solar heated water heater of 300 L, with an electric booster should it be needed. Hot water is also available in the kitchen. Linen Sheets, towels and beach towels are provided at no additional charge. Crockery All kitchen utensils are provided. Barbecue A roll-away WEBER barbecue is stored under the veranda. Master Bedroom Very spacious (22m²) and isolated from the rest of the house, with a 2m x 2m10 bed, a desk, chair, and shelf unit. It is equipped with air conditioning and a fan. Large 3m sliding door that gives directly onto the pool area with a removable security gate. En-suite large bathroom (15m²) with separate water closet, bathtub, 2 sinks with a large mirror, large glass enclosed shower, closets and towel racks. En-suite dressing room with cupboards, drawers, wardrobe and safe deposit box. Room No 2 Comfortable room measuring 14m² with a 1m80 x 2m05 double bed. Air conditioning. Closet that includes a wardrobe, shelf and drawer. Table with drawer and one chair, 2 bedside tables. Large 2m40 sliding door that looks out onto the pool area, with a removable security gate. This room has a connecting bathroom and water closet, all of which is separated from the rest of the house by a double sliding door. Room No 3 Room of 3.30 meters x 2.80 meters. It includes 2 single beds 0,90 x 2 meters, a night table, a closet with wardrobe, shelves and drawers. Air conditioning, 1 en suite bathroom. Looks out onto the courtyard. Kitchen American-style kitchen that gives onto the TV room. It is equipped with an American refrigerator with water and ice dispensers, fitted oven and microwave, dishwasher, two sinks with hot water, 4 gas and 1 electric hob fitted into granite, cooker hood, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, all kitchen utensils, cupboard and shelve, a granite table that extends from the worktop and can accommodate 4 people. This table allows you to eat while watching the television in the living room with its 37’ LCD HD screen. You can also relax on the comfortable couches in the TV room. These two rooms which are connecting are both air conditioned and the TV room also has a fan. The windows in both the living room and the kitchen have wooden blinds. Veranda which gives onto the pool area It is a large 40m² veranda with a living area and eating corner. It connects directly with the inside living room and the American-style kitchen and opens out onto the pool area and pool. The living area includes two 3-seater couches, 2 single armchairs, a coffee table, and a corner table. The table which seats 10 people has 8 chairs as the 2 armchairs can also be used if necessary. The veranda has two ceiling fans. There are two transparent rolling blinds with remote controls to close off the veranda. This function is often used by the occupants of the villa in the evenings when it is chillier or when they want the children to play inside. Meanwhile they can still appreciate the view of the pool and garden. Pool and Pool Area The pool is 8m long and 4m wide, the depth is between 0.9 and 1m70, that is to say 50m3. It operates with a salt treatment which is programmed 4 times a day, and a barracuda cleans the bottom of the pool automatically. A pool alarm is also kept aside and can be installed on request. The pool area includes 4 deckchairs with mattresses, a dining table under a coconut tree that seats 4 people, and 2 parasols. Rubber rings allow you to stay in the water while sipping your cocktail in the sun. An outdoor shower allows you to rinse off when coming out of the pool. At the back of the house, within the confines of the villa, there is a parking area which can accommodate 4-5 cars. The well kept garden is fitted out with tasteful, colourful and varied plants all around the house. The WEBER portable barbecue is never very far from the pool and ready to be used. Beach/Boat A magnificent beach which is nearly deserted during the week is 200m walk away and on the way you will find a mini supermarket which sells beverages and ice cream. The lagoon is between 1m80 and 1m20 deep depending on the tide, and the reefs are approximately 250-300m away. Several beach restaurants (in the hotels) are scattered in a range of 400-500m. Certain boat excursions leave from here, in particular fishing, the ride to see the dolphins, or the picnics on the small island of Benitiers. Le bailleur pourra de bon droit, essayer de relouer le logement. c) Obligation d’occuper les lieux personnellement, de les habiter “ en bon père de famille ” et de les entretenir. The beach area itself is a more traditional setting with local people going around doing what they do like preparing for the days fishing or coming back with their catch of the day children playing in the sea or adults discussing the arrangements for the next wedding important source of parties here you might get invited yourself they like to do this .This part of the beach is a less popular area and also quite for the main reason that a lot of people do not realize the beach continues after Villa Caroline and with the main road itself curving to the left away from this part of the beach and they not being able to see the beach from road because of the residential buildings blocking the view of beach causes people not to come to this end of Flic en Flac so for this reason because of our location you end with up with a more local Mauritian experience as well as being on the beach enjoying the beautiful sunsets or just sunbathing and relaxing . The SpaceVilla Osumare is a family run ten room guest house situated in a tropical garden setting opposite the Flic en Flac beach on the western coast of the island. The guest house itself is situated between the hotel Villa Caroline and the hotel Klondike right on the western seashore enabling you to watch beautiful daily sunsets from the veranda or from the roof terrace or on the beach . Also from Villa Osumare you can walk the entire white sand 6 kilometer Flic en Flac beach. Within a radius of 100 metres short walking distance there many restaurants and small noodle snack vendors , bars, post office, shopping, pharmacy, public transport etc, all this you can see on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps. Flic en Flac is some 40 kilometres from the airport. As Mauritius is subject to the South East trade wind, the South and South Eastern part of the island are subject to rain during the rainy season, however Flic en Flac, being situated on the western coast, we enjoy sunshine almost all the year round and the sea remains calm. Your first floor room set next to the veranda with views of the garden and sea will have a large double bed with an en-suit bathroom , free air conditioning , digital safe , small bar fridge , 100 % cotton bed linen , bath towels , free 24/7 wifi access , daily maid service . Also included will be our continental breakfast with a choice of different breads and brioche with our home made jams and local fruits with coffee fruit juice and Mauritian teas which you will able to consume while sitting on the veranda watching the local fishermen preparing for the day or maybe you yourself could go for a walk along the six kilometer beach before breakfast . The SpaceLocated just a few steps away from the beach, our studio is a fantastic offer for a beach holiday, whether you are travelling on your own, enjoy a romantic stay as a couple, a couple of friends or a small family (a baby bed is available upon request)! The studio is very large (55 square meters), with a large orthopaedic bed, a TV lounge, well equipped kitchen and breakfast area and a modern bathroom. The studio also offers its own patio surrounded by a tropical garden. The patio is extremely enjoyable and allows you to spend a maximum amount of time outdoor, and it is shaded most of the day. As well, diners and long evenings sitting on the patio are also extremely enjoyable! Facing you is the swimming pool and a constant invitation to take a dip and refresh yourself! As the studio is on the ground floor and benefits from good shelter from the sun, the inside temperature regulates by itself (never too hot, never too cold), which makes the studio extremely enjoyable. You can of course also close the windows and turn on the air conditioning. A comfortable set of rattan seats also allows you to enjoy the flat screen TV with its twenty TNT channels. Location-wise, the apartment is part of "Les Peupliers" residential complex, located in the heart of Flic-en-Flac, and just 50 metres from the beach. All amenities (supermarket, change office, taxis, pharmacy, restaurants...) are on your doorstep! The residence itself is a fantastic place to stay: it has a large bespoke swimming pool (17 x 5 x 1.4 metres) with sun loungers, tropical gardens, secured parking spaces, a watchman and 24/7 CCTV. On a more practical side, the studios offers a large orthopaedic bed (200 x220cm) which can be converted into two single bed (on request ). The bathroom benefits from an overhead shower and a safe is provided. The kitchen is well equipped with the following: breakfasting table and stools, kettle, toaster, microwave oven , fridge/freezer, dual induction cooking plates, and all the essentials (and much more) required to cater for a diner party of 4 people on the patio. A washing machine is also provided as well as an airer, iron and ironing table. A weekly cleaning and change of linens and towels are also included in your stay. The tropical gardens are regularly sprayed with tea tree and neem oils to deter as naturally as possible the eventual mosquito, which proves a relative success and allows you to enjoy the gardens, patio and outdoors of the residence in the evenings. Guest AccessOne of the best swimming pools of Flic-en-Flac (17 metres long by 5 metres wide and 1.4 metre deep) is just a few steps away, surrounded by a pretty tropical garden: hisbiscuses, birds of paradise, frangipanis ... The sun loungers are here just waiting for you! The residence also has secured parking spaces, 24/7 CCTV and a night watchman. Interaction with GuestsOur local manager, Vania, lives nearby and enjoys coming by to say hello in the evenings to ensure your holiday is running smoothly! We are also of assistance and available should you need anything. The NeighborhoodA mere two minutes walk from the residence will have you facing the indian ocean and the beach of Flic-en-Flac! The beach itself is reknown for its length: nearly 5 kilometres! it also offers a shallow and tranquil lagoon boarded with a large shaded forest of Filaos, some large public paillote umbrellas or some private sun-loungers. The lagoon itself encompasses different sections: a snorkelling area next to the boat anchorages that allows snorkelling over corals, benitiers, and tropical aquarias; long stretches of sportive swimming lagoon and fine sandy sections practicable for all family members. The village of Flic-en-Flac is on the doorstep (litteraly!) of the residence. It encompasses the following: a spar supermarket, pharmacy, , local shops, doctors, a miriad of beach-side food vans, bespoke veranda seaside restaurants, local cuisine outlets (try comlone or Ah Youn), diving centers (ti cabot and others), and car and scooter rentals. The local bus stop is 20 metres from the residence and allows you to sample Mauritian travels on the cheap, with destinations such as Port-Louis (40 mins) and Quatre Bornes (50 mins). The local nighlife has much to offer as beach bars, dance clubs and casinos are dotted around the village while keeping in line with the local noise restrictions, leaving you with quiet nights to recover from your adventures! Being on the doorstep of the Morne Brabant Unesco site also provides you with fantastic sunsets (have a cool refreshing early evening walk on the beach and you just won't believe your eyes!) and access to the little paradise that the West Coast of Mauritius has to offer: swimming with dolphins in Tamarin bay one early morning, enjoy a boat ride to ile aux benitiers inclusive of a barbeque and reef snorkel, maybe abseil down the 7 cascade waterfall nearby or simply enjoy the local beaches. Or even try windsurfing on Le Morne spot or playing in the waves at Tamarin Bay! Flic-en-Flac is also reknown for its sheltered situation: despite the occasional tropical rains, the area benefits from the most sunshine on the island and doesn't suffer from the strong winds during the occasional summer cyclones. Local educational / fun outings include the casela yemen nature park with its birds collection, safari adventures, quad hire and zipline. A little further are the chamarel 7 coloured earth beauty spot with its cascade and local rhum distillery. The black river gorges (mosquito repellents are more than recommended) also offer tropical forest walks with cascades and river spots dotted about. Port Louis also has much to offer with its colourful (and tasteful!) central market, museums and waterfront. The most adventurous of us can also brave the heat and venture into the pitoresque market streets looking for a clothing bargain or simply just a pretty dress! Area tips: There are a lot of activites in the area, depending on your needs: -sunlounging, swimming and snorkelling from the beach -enjoying the food trucks in the shade of the filaos (try dim-sums and noodles from “Chez Christine”, the little blue truck or simply a fiery Mauritian chicken kebab). -Lookout for the local “rasta man” that sells freshly caught tropical river crayfish in the morning (he'll be taking position around 9 in the morning along the Pasadena front wall) and enjoy them with butter and garlic -Take away a few dishes or face the adventurous service at Ah Youn or Comlone -Enjoy a good table at domaine Anna amidst a wonderful setting. -You can also contact JP Henry for an early morning swim with the dolphins, a catamaran day around ile au benitier or fishing in the high seas -Visit the casela yemen adventure park for its bird collection, riding a quad bike or walking with lions -View the chamarel seven coloured earth beauty spot and sample rhum at the distillery -Take a bus trip to Port Louis to sample the seafront, central markets and busy street of the capital of Mauritius -Take a day walk in black river gorges tropical forest , rivers and cascades(mosquito repellent, and plenty of water bottles are strongly advised) -Take a guided walk of the 7 cascades waterfall from Henrietta bus station and swim in the ponds (the falls are 800 metres above Flic-en-Flac within the surrounding high cliffs you can view from the top of the hill). I can also recommend a good specialist if you want to abseil the cascades as well. -The reefs at flic-en-flac are known as a beauty spot in terms of scuba diving: rock cathedrals, aquarias, etc… -Tour the south west coast along the beaches of Tamarin, La preneuse (stop at Ousaporn in the village – ask for directions , Riviere Noire (lookout for the French patisserie), la gaulette and Le morne (beautiful beach with large restaurant / snack bar by the beach) -And so much more that Mauritius has to offer!! In terms of car rental, the best deals are in advance from easycar , which guarantees you a car in good working order at a good price. You can pick the car up from the airport or simply pick it up from the local big hotels front reception desk – look for this option at the time of booking. There are of course local car and scooter rentals from the local seaside outlets. The best scooter deals are at the black and white chequered scooter rental agency by the Manissa hotel. Getting AroundTaxi, hire car, busThe local bus station is 20 metres from the residence and takes you to Port-Louis, Quatre-Bornes and Curepipe. The village taxi rank is across the road from the residence. From the airport to Flic-en-Flac: Take a rental car from the airport or a taxi. If you choose a rental car, I can provide you with a detailed road map and indications.For adventurous backpackers only (only backpack, no large luggage): an hourly local bus does the airport - curepipe - Port louis route. It will take you two hours in total to reach Flic-en-Flac but it will guarantee you total immersion in the local culture!
