The SpaceBoth rooms are located on the upper floor of a Cape Cod home. The rooms have been set up as comfortable as possible with window A/C units (plus central air conditioning as well), queen beds, sofas, coffee tables, wi-fi, DirecTV, walk-in closets with plenty of shelving plus a steam iron and ironing board. The front entrance of the home leads straight up to the upper floor with the two rooms and a bathroom. The bathroom is newly renovated and features a dual flush, water efficient commode, double vanities, wall cabinets, and a rainfall shower. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen on the main floor. From the kitchen there are French doors leading to a deck, overlooking a large yard with mature trees. On the main floor there is also a front load washer / dryer which our guests are welcome to use if they are with us for an extended stay. The main floor also features access to the outdoor living areas which includes comfortable seating, a tropical ceiling fan and a fire pit. Interaction with GuestsThe hosts are happy to interact with their guests and assist with any local area information, but are also happy to offer full privacy. However the hosts do ask for their private time when they retreat to their living room for their evening "down time". The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is 1 mile from I-95 and a 1/2 mile from Rt. 1 and close to Potomac Mills and Stonebridge at Potomac shopping centers along with numerous restaurants. Beautiful, historic and quaint Occoquan, with many boutiques and additional dining options, is less than 3 miles from our front door. The VRE train station and Greyhound station is 1.5 miles away. Getting AroundThere are numerous commuter bus lots and the I-95 exit is only 1 mile away. The DC metro line is close by and the VRE train station with connections to DC, Philly and NYC to the north and Richmond and all points south is only 1.5 miles away. Other Things to NoteWe know that our guests are different. Some like rooms that are warmer and may need blankets. Others prefer their room's cooler. Our geographical area does experience heat waves, and even though our home has central air conditioning, in order to help our guests maintain their preferred room temperature, we have installed window a/c units in each of the rooms. These can be turned on or off, set on high or low with the press of a button, and will quickly alter the temperature of the room dramatically. Both rooms offer extra blankets, and for our guests staying longer, we have replacement bed linen and towels. Toiletries are not part of our standard amenities.
