The SpacePLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE FIRST BEFORE REQUESTING TO BOOK. I WILL RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS AND I WILL TELL YOU IF THE PLACE IS AVAILABLE. We only entertain inquiries if 1. you have a clear photo of your face in your profile, 2. you have a verified ID, and 3. you give us a details of why you are in town. A review from other Airbnb users is a huge plus! Please count children/ babies in your number of guests. We require a valid government issued photo ID at check in to verify your identity. The room is one of three bedrooms in the house. This is the Northeast Room and gets the most sunshine in the morning. It has double (a.k.a. full size) bed, area rug, a side table, a table lamp, one lounge chair and radiator heater. The house was built in 1925, so it has the old house quirks: squeaky hardwood floors, solid oak doors, glass door knobs, clunky radiators when the heat turns on. If you have lived in an old house, you will know a squeaky floor and clunky radiator! This old house has settled and shifted over the years so this particular room has a door that closes (but not fully) but DOES NOT lock. However it still provides privacy. Also this room DOES NOT have a closet but you have an armoire inside the room. Please consider these aspects before you request to book. We rarely rent the room on a long term basis but we have made exceptions for those who have clearly explained their case. Sorry, we do not accept requests for third party renters. The airbnb member must be the renter or part of the group whose renting. To summarize: *Cozy room (small space) but adequate for 2 adults *the room is private but does not have a door lock. *no closet space but has a dresser in the room. If you need to hang clothes we can provide a clothes rack. *shared bathroom, kitchen, livingroom *towels and toothpaste, shampoo and conditioners are provided *parking is provided *the house is almost always occupied by someone from our household. Finally, we know that you would probably compare us to other listings... but know that we will strive to make it your while if you choose to stay with us. Guest AccessGuests will have full access to the 1.5 baths in the house, the kitchen, refrigerator, coffee maker, washer/dryer in the basement, parking on the driveway (not the garage), the backyard and wifi internet. The closet inside this room is locked with our stuff. All other bedrooms and the attic is off limits. We ask that you let us know if you want to use the washer and dryer at the basement. We have flat screen cable TV in the kitchen that is not connected to cable but we have a smart TV in the living room. You are welcome to use it. You are welcome to our pantry to make yourself breakfast. We do not provide lunch or dinner. However, if you're inclined to cook yourself some food you're welcome to use the kitchen. If you need linens please let me know and I will provide it for you. Interaction with GuestsWe would be home most of the time so the house is almost never empty. Our extended family visits over the weekend. We have a rambunctious toddler and a new pup who pretty much occupy most of our time. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood sits at the borders of Paterson, Woodland Park and Clifton, where the historic Lambert Castle is but a few steps away. If you go outside, you can see the skyline of New York in a clear night. It is accessible to major highways to NYC: Route 3, route 46, Garden State Parkway and Interstate 80. We are close to New York City, Berkeley College, WilliamPaterson University, St. Joseph's Medical Center, Montclair State University, and Giants Stadium. If you have a car, the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets is 1.5 hours drive north, or visit the Short Hills mall. The Presby Iris Garden is but a few minutes drive to Montclair. A must - see if you're here in the spring. If you love ice cream you must go to Apple Gate Farms. They are open all year round. Toros Restaurant in Clifton is a great restaurant that serves authentic Mediterranean cuisine Getting AroundIf you have a car, let us know and we will let you use the driveway for parking, although street parking is never an issue for us. There's plenty of spots in front or near the house. From Newark international airport, follow the sign to NJ turnpike north. Take exit 16 W / Route 3. Follow signs to Route 3 West. Take the last exit on route 3 West: valley road. You will see Dumont ave about 1.5 miles north on Valley Rd. We are centrally located and has access to all major highways like the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, route 3 and interstate 80. Use the NJ transit bus 190 or 192 to NYC. You can park your car at the Secaucus train station(around $9 after 4 pm) or Harrison path train station (around $11 all day) and take the train to NYC Take the bus to NYC 2 blocks from the house. 4 minute walk Take the bus to Newark Penn at Broad st and you'll have access to Amtrak and Greyhound stations. Other Things to NoteOur home is not immaculately clean as we have a toddler at home. We also adopted a big puppy recently. With that said, we are NOT dirty, just lived-in. We will provide you with our house keys. If this is lost we will deduct $50 from your deposit. Again we have a honey bee hive in our back yard. So please keep this in mind when booking the place.
