The SpaceIt's just a lovely part of Darwin, family friendly and always cool and clean. There's a full kitchen, and a lovely outdoor garden courtyard. Our neighbourhood is a warm and friendly community, and people are always welcoming, helpful and interesting. No airconditioning but tropical design and ceiling fans keeps it cool. Guest AccessFree WiFi, Swimming pool, washing machine and lovely bush walks. There is a coffee plunger and all kitchen utensils, fresh linen provided plus a small TV. We're less than 10 minutes drive to the airport and the city. There are lovely nature walks starting from across the road. Child friendly with on-site playmates, scooters, rip-sticks, a trampoline and skateboards. Interaction with GuestsWe're friendly people and happy to interact, or just as happy not to, if guests want total privacy. Also happy to give local advice, tips on the best local fare, a lift here and there (if possible) and to share some stories. The NeighborhoodOne of the few historic parts of Darwin, we live on the edge of a large nature reserve with woodland, mangrove forest and lovely walking trails. Our street is quiet, without much traffic. There's lots of kids who play and ride their bikes around the local streets, happy and safe. Getting Around7 minutes to the city, less than 10 from the airport, and the bus stops are easy walking distance going either to the City, to Nightcliff or Casuarina or out to the industrial district and Palmerston. It is also an easy walk to a local corner shop or the famous Parap Markets and shopping village and very close to the racecourse. It's a longer walk to the ocean and the East Point reserve, but pleasant and interesting for those with medium fitness. Other Things to NoteWhile the actual address is 16 Ludmilla Terrace, the entrance and driveway is the last on the right hand side at the very end of Porter St, which runs off Hudson Fysh Avenue. This is an important detail to share with taxi drivers, as there's some confusing one way streets around here. There's also lots of frogs, and at night, which are noisy for the uninitiated, and possums and bandicoots visit.

The SpaceOur listing is unique as the house is an extremely large and very modern Art Deco design, fully air conditioned and beautifully appointed. The location is very quiet and peaceful; but is only 6 minutes by car to the CBD yet close to the major roads to take you quickly out of Darwin to explore the fabulous Northern Territory. There are 3 double rooms for short stay rental separately per night and discounts apply if bookings are per week or per month or for large groups. The slightly smaller rooms rent per night at the advertised price and the larger rooms are a little more. All rooms have their own ensuite bathrooms, kitchenettes and lounges. Six adults or 4 adults and 4 children and a baby can be comfortably accommodated in either twin or king sized bed configuration, but smaller numbers or couples are very welcome. Larger groups may be able to be accommodated as we have friends with units and houses close by who may have spare rooms that can be made available. Just ask!! Our rooms are decorated by unique Aboriginal art prints on fabric created exclusively for a local business "Ausdesigns". This business employs and supports local disabled people and we support them. Guest AccessAll guests have fully serviced rooms (sheets and towels changed weekly) with ensuites or bathrooms; kitchenettes with fridge; own TV; king sized beds (or two singles if required); lounge and coffee table. Guests have access to the fabulous pool, full kitchen, breakfast tables, eight seater formal dining table, lounge and bar. Interaction with GuestsYour hosts will interact as much or as little as required by the guests. All guests will be personally greeted and shown their rooms and the facilities. The NeighborhoodThe house is set high overlooking the Bayview Marina and has wonderful views. There is a very pleasant walking path right around the Marina and a park a short stroll away with children's play and adult exercise equipment. The neighbourhood consists of up market, modern executive homes and tropical gardens. Getting AroundThere is a bus service to Bayview and an excellent road system. Taxi services (including private hire cars) are readily available in Darwin as are a good range of hire cars, including 4WDs. We are happy to pick up and drop off our guests from Darwin Airport or the Railway Station at no charge if there are 4 or fewer guests - unfortunately our 2015 Prius iTech can only take 4 passengers! However we can arrange bus and driver hire to attractions such as Dundee Beach, Litchfield Park or Kakadu for example. Other Things to NoteThere are several stairs at the front door (see photo) and carpeted stairs between the two guest levels and the ground level containing the full kitchen, dining,bar and pool area. My husband John and I live in a separate flat upstairs and are available to assist our guests at any time. There is another separate flat that has its own separate entrance and facilities with permanent tenants who do not interfere with our guests enjoyment of our facilities.

The SpaceThis is a very comfortable room with a king sized bed that can be split to become twin single beds if required. The room can take a maximum of two adults and a baby (we have a cot). The room is decorated using the artwork of a local Aboriginal artist called Wiggii who calls the work "My Mother's Country". Wiggii lives at Humpty Doo which is located approximately 50km south of Darwin. “My Mother’s Country” is from the story told to him by his mother Evelyn whose family come from the Roper River Region further south east in the Territory. These images are of the abundance of birds, animals and people that come from the big snake when he was speared. This is part of his mother’s story. This fabric has been exclusively commissioned by a local company called "Ausdesigns" which employs and supports disabled Territorians. We also support Injatak Arts from Gunbalanya and you will see examples of their colourful weaving in this room. Guest AccessGuest have access to a full kitchen, breakfast area, formal dining and lounge area with 60 inch TV, laundry with washing machine and drier, iron and ironing board as well our fabulous pool and bbq area. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact with the guests as much or as little as they request. I like to be there to welcome our guests and show them to their room and orientate them with our facilities. The NeighborhoodThe Bayview neighbourhood is just fabulous! It is a quiet, upmarket suburb just minutes from the Darwin CBD by car and located close to Tiger Brennan Drive which in 20 minutes puts you on the outskirts of Darwin and well on the way to seeing the rest of the incredible Northern Territory. There is a great walking and biking track around this marina development for those who like to exercise during their travels. There is an outdoor exercise gym in a public park just around the corner. Our views sweep over the Charles Darwin National Park to the east and over Darwin CBD and the Harbour to the west and north. Getting AroundThere is a bus service to Bayview and an excellent road system. Taxi services (including private hire cars) are readily available in Darwin as are a good range of hire cars, including 4WDs. We are happy to pick up and drop off our guests from Darwin Airport or the Railway Station at no charge. The SpaceOur Premium Luxury Room is spacious with either a king sized bed or twin configuration for two adults. Relax on the 3 seater lounge with large coffee table while you watch TV or plan your next Territory adventure. Let the stress depart in our triangular spa bath. Enjoy snacks or light meals from your own private kitchenette or use the other facilities in this very large house. We have decorated this room with fabric prints exclusively commissioned for a local business called "Ausdesigns" which employs and supports local disabled Territorians. The title of the print is "Karawa Dreaming" by local Aboriginal artist Kenny Reid. The story is about the nearby Howard River and hunting for crabs and fish in that river. A full description of the story is in the House Manual which can be read on arrival. We also support Injatak Arts in Gunbalanya and you will find examples of their colourful weaving in this room. Guest AccessGuests have access to a fully equipt gourmet kitchen with breakfast facilities for 12 and a formal dining table that seats 8. A large washing machine, drier, clothes line, iron and ironing board are available for guest use. A casual lounge with 60" TV and a fabulous pool, outdoor eating and BBQ completes our facilities outside the Premium Luxury Room. Interaction with GuestsAs little or as much as our guests wish and require. We live in a separate flat so are there if required, but do not interfere with the quiet enjoyment of facilities by quests. The second flat also quite separate from quest rooms and facilities as this flat has its own private entrance, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, lounge and BBQ sit- out area.

The SpaceA comfortable bedroom with queen size bed is available for short term rental of between 2 nights up to 10 weeks or longer for the right people. We are a mature couple living in the house with our 13 year old dog, Jackson. The house has two bedrooms with a bathroom and toilet located close to together. One of the rooms is tenanted on a long term basis. Woolner is a handy location with the Parap & Mindil markets, racecourse and restaurants all within a few kms. The foreshore is close by and the CBD is only 5minutes drive away. There are two public bus stops within 1km walking distance. Guests will have access to cooking and washing facilities, BBQ and a lovely salt water pool. In addition to your own bedroom, there is a bathroom with a separate toilet shared between the two bedrooms. The rooms are not serviced daily, however a spare set of fresh towels and washing facilities will be available during your stay. Tea and coffee is provided for guests. We enjoy having house guests and are available for a chat but will also respect your space and privacy. We also enjoy travelling and may not always be here when you are staying. We have arrangements in place for access and help in our absence. Woolner, also known as City Valley Estate. is a small suburb very conveniently located close to the CBD, Parap Shopping Village, Fannie Bay racecourse and the spectacular foreshore. Bus stops are approximately one km walking distance. There are two pushbikes with helmets and locks available for free use by guests. The SpaceWe invite you to experience a tropical lifestyle in separate, private accommodation under our home. The unit is spacious with quality furniture and fittings, and louvred windows throughout provide garden views from all main areas. The unit has a queen bed, double and single sofa beds so it can sleep 3 adults comfortably. Disabled access and shower facilities. This ideal location makes it close to EVERYTHING that is spectacular about Darwin. Getting AroundPublic buses are a short walk away with buses to the city, Casuarina and Palmerston. Parking can be a challenge as unit only comes with 2 bays that are being used by the other residents. Often there are vacant spaces from other units however you may need to park out on the street.
