The SpaceStay amid the trees in this working artist's studio. Kayak or paddle board to explore the natural preserve of Masonboro Island a pristine undeveloped beach. Walk to the water. This second floor studio has full kitchen, bath, porch and internet wifi, queen bed, AC/heat and parking. The porch offers an outside living space with cushioned chairs and table to sit outside for a morning coffee. We offer fresh coffee beans, grinder and french press (or coffee maker) and tea. We welcome you to our beautiful location on the coast! This private working art studio is in a quiet neighborhood in Masonboro off Whiskey Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway. The area is known for great kayaking and where the popular "Dawson's Creek" series was filmed. A morning walk may be to the kayak park or stop to view the ocean and marshes from Masonboro Yacht Club. The studio's second floor deck looks over hundred year old live oak trees. It is close to downtown and the beaches by water or by car! Beach chairs, towels, coolers provided. At the end of the street is a sports bar/lunch place with great fish sandwiches and a Sushi bar. We suggest Cape Fear Seafood for dinner just 3 miles away. They support local fisherman and have the freshest catches. Shopping centers are 3 miles away at "Monkey Junction". We are all about the local natural environment. Al is a sailor currently involved in rebuilding old boats. Joan is an impressionist oil painting artist and healing arts therapist. You may want to create, write or be inspired by the locale. Fort Fisher's Aquarium and historic battleground are due south. A ferry ride from there makes a day trip to Southport. One mile from the Studio is the UNCW Marine Science Lab. The University of North Carolina at Wilmington is just north of us. You will want a car to go to town and the beaches, about 7 miles. We look forward to sharing the beauty of Masonboro. As much as we enjoy hosting you, we have committed to a no pet policy that allows follow up guests to come without concerns for allergies. We also find so much to do without TV, but do bring your laptop! Wifi available. The NeighborhoodWe are a short walk to the kayak ramp and park. 3/10th a mile. It is a quiet residential area. The pace is easy and relaxing here. Other Things to NoteWe do not allow kids or pets. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The SpaceSuper cute European style Modern Gem. The kitchen is open to the living room with a glass mosaic bar to cozy up to. Watch movies on the flat screen while prepping dinner in the gourmet kitchen. Retire to the upstairs Master suite with down duvet, pillows, king bed, and walk in shower with mosaics. A full size futon bed is available for extra guests. The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed with down duvet & pillows. The bathroom with shower/tub downstairs services the guest room. Two beach cruisers to cruise your way to Wrightsville Beach as well as beach chairs & umbrella. (in season) Guest AccessThe whole town home is for your use, a moderately stocked Ultra Modern European Kitchen with basic spices, coffee maker, washer, dryer. We do Not have a microwave. Walk directly to local shops, restaurants & coffee shop! There are two designated parking spaces. After that time the key will be at a specified place. Please let me know if you plan to be later than 5 PM and I will arrange to have the key left for you. Maid service is available if you choose, for an additional 15.00 per day, or for additional linens there is a charge of 5.00 each day.

Nice large bathroom with ceramic tile and large tub. Kitchen has granite countertops and all stainless appliances. Separate laundry room with washer and dryer. Apartment has hardwood floors throughout and is fully furnished. Also includes cable TV, wi-fi, blu-ray dvd, iPod docks, and in-room safe. Apartment is located on the lot next door to our house, so we are close by should you need anything. The property is surrounded by trees and offers plenty of privacy. Close Enough has nice deck with a gas grill ready to go. We are located just minutes from Wrightsville Beach, Mayfaire shopping and restaurants, boat rentals, and more. 20 minutes to airport and downtown Wilmington. Great location and value in this brand new apartment. Cost of rental does not include adjacent properties or amenities, this includes our personal space at our home next door. The NeighborhoodBeautiful quiet neighborhood with lots of trees. Great for walking. Other Things to NoteWe have a couple babysitters we can recommend if you are interested in a night out without the kids while you are here. Please let me know if interested and I can arrange for you. There is room for one car to park at foot of stairs beside apartment. Any additional cars will need to park on street in front of house. (not on grass). TV is not HD.

The home is soundproof. There is a TV in your room. Access to large living room, kitchen with full refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and deck with grill. Prime location to Mayfair for shopping and restaurants and only 5.46 miles or 5-7 mins by car to Wrightsville Beach depending on traffic. Downtown can be about 10-15 minutes and depends on how you go. This home is located in an upscale area is very safe and has lots of amenities. You can enjoy a walk or a run in the neighborhood anytime. We are 2 mins away to a golf course, park, 10 mins to the Carolina beaches and 20 mins to Kure beach. Close to shopping, parks and recreation and schools. Easy access to Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Topsail Beaches, the Sound & other beaches in the area. Access to main floor with family room, living room, dining room, sunroom and fenced backyard . There is a tv in the living room. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed available to accomodate 2 people. We have a himalayan cat (indoor and mostly outdoors)who is very friendly and he is hypoallergenic. If you are lucky you will see him. We also have a yorkie. This is a perfect place to stay while you play in the area. The room has a large window- one of which is nice and bright. Only 5-7 mins to Wrightsville Beach by car depending on traffic & UNCW, 10 mins to Wilmington downtown & 20 mins to Carolina Beach. Multiple grocery stores 5 mins away. Mayfair Town Center & Airlie Gardens is less than 5 mins away. Guest AccessParking is free on our driveway. The SpaceA nice three room suite including bedroom, living space and kitchen ( with washer/dryer). Private entrance and parking at the door make this small apartment especially nice. Our grounds include a lovely 1/3 acre pond filled with wild life, surrounded by trees with a small dock and sitting area. We are in a small older community 14 miles north of downtown Wilmington and a 15 minute drive to Wrightsville Beach. There are unpaved roads nearby nice for walking or biking ( we offer two used but reliable bikes.) Lovely restaurants, shopping and Medac are within 3 miles..We include with all bookings set-ups for coffee and tea, information of happenings in the region and a welcome basket of fruit and Classic Biscotti. We only book "verified (URL HIDDEN) please complete the process before booking. Guest AccessEnjoy walking and biking in our neighborhood.`. Groceries and Restaurants 2 miles away, Downtown Wilmington is 14 miles down Market Street. Medac and emergency room less than 5 miles away Interaction with GuestsPrivate entrance on the far side of our house with parking space next to entry door. (Light til midnight). We will greet you, give you the key, happy to orient you with any special information.. The NeighborhoodOur acre with pond is frequently visited by deer and water birds. Badminton net is always up for a game Getting AroundYou really need a car in this area. There is no public transportation. Other Things to NoteWe are located right near the Figure Eight bridge but it is a private island. You would need to rent a cottage there or be a homeowner to gain access. (Sorry :(( )

The SpaceFirm full size bed with memory foam topper for extra softness. The bathroom is the shared 2nd bathroom, but will be exclusively yours during your stay. Closet and dresser are ready for your use! We have two living room areas, so there is plenty of space for guests to stay and feel welcome without feeling crammed. Although we don't provide breakfast, you are welcome to help yourself to anything we have in the house during your stay - coffee, tea, eggs, cereal, milk, etc. Room highlights: Smart LED TV with direct connection to Netflix, very comfortable full size bed, empty closet and dresser so the space is completely yours. Our third bedroom is mostly empty, so we can comfortably accommodate additional guests - just bring an air mattress! Guest AccessAll house amenities are available during your stay - kitchen, fridge, washer/dryer, Xbox PLUS we have lots of toys to share such as boogie boards, coolers, balls, racquets. We just ask before borrowing specific items. Interaction with GuestsWe will most likely be home during your stay. We are in and out during the day and tend to be home bodies in the evening. We look forward to hanging out with guests (if they want to!) and maybe even grilling out in the deck with them! The NeighborhoodOur home is located in the Kings Grant neighborhood of Wilmington, NC. It is a quiet neighborhood and is convenient to all areas of town. We are about: 4 miles to the Mayfaire shopping center (movie theater, dining, shopping), 7 miles to Wrightsville Beach, 6 miles to downtown and 6 miles to Screen Gems Studio. Cabs are very easy to come by if you want to really go to town at the pubs downtown! Getting AroundThere is some public transit in Wilmington but honestly its not very convenient or reliable. We are not in walking distance to a bus stop but we have ridden our bikes to the beach! Its about a smooth, flat 40 minute ride mostly on large sidewalks/Cross City Trail. We have two bikes that we are happy to lend out during people's stay. Other Things to NoteWe have a loving, fat cat named Grey. He may even drool when you pet him! He does not go in the guest room and the Roomba does a great job keeping the house clean, but as with most cats if you have allergies this may not be the house for you. Feel free to send in a last minute request to stay, but we can't always accept. I like to have at least a days (24 hours is better than 6 hours if you get what I mean) notice so I can be sure the house is clean and the room is ready! We are not super humans so the house does get messy. :)

The SpaceThere are stairs going up to the house and the bathtubs in the bathrooms must be stepped into (not level with the floor). Guest AccessThe bedroom is located in our main house so guests must enter and leave through the main doors. Access to the kitchen is limited to the morning. We usually have coffee, toast, juice, and english muffins. You may bring something else if you would like but you can not make an american breakfast with eggs and bacon or sausage in the kitchen. Interaction with GuestsInteraction with guests depends on mutual interests and what schedules allow. Sometimes we hang out while other times each has other things to do. The NeighborhoodThis is an exclusive neighborhood surrounded with beautiful natural habitats. A real sanctuary to come home to after a day at the beach. Getting AroundMost guests drive to the beach which is only 3 miles away. There is a boat ramp based on request and approval (valid license, insurance, and agreement). Anyone going out on a boat must leave a float plan and have verifiable registration, and safety checklist. Other Things to NoteWe have three small dogs (Chihuahuas) and 2 outdoor cats. Host will meet you and go over the two entrances, getting around, where to find first aid kit, emergency items, and where to keep personal items. The SpaceThe apartment has lots windows ,but it is still very secluded and private The bedroom has a queen bed and accommodates two people comfortably . Cable TV and steaming. Free wifi. Guest Accessguests have access to the creek( which is tidal) from the dock with double and single kayaks and a few chairs if you choose to just relax surrounded by marsh grass. Interaction with GuestsAs much as they need me The Neighborhoodthe neighborhood consists of neighbors in the form of birds, lizards, and trees all of which make quiet neighbors. Getting AroundThere is no public transit except for taxis' you can, of course bike to the beach (if you bring your own bike) Other Things to NoteI have a long driveway that seems to be difficult to find at night. There are white Christmas lights in the trees above, and a green pig with wings on my mailbox.

The Seafood Shack is at the top of the road. I am just 6.09 miles to Wrightsville Beach or 10 miles to downtown Wilmington . Topsail beach is 28 miles away. Wilmington is know for all the choices of restaurants, Azalea festival, Battleship NC, Ironman, Dawsons Creek, Safe Haven were all filmed here. We have numerous bike paths, 5k runs, marathons etc. While your here you might want to go to Carolina beach & take the ferry over to Southport & enjoy the quaint town. You can go down town along the river front & stroll the boardwalk where there are numerous venues to listen to music & cafes along with art galleries. What ever your looking for you can find it here, so come kick back & enjoy the coast. Yes we now have wifi;) Quiet dead end street, on the water. It is furnished with a full-sized bed, dresser and large office desk. The house is a 5 bedroom 2.5 bath. The current room for rent comes with a shared bath. The entire house and city of Wilmington! I am a full time divorced father of three. Two of my children are still in school and live with me full time (13 & 15 years old). The NeighborhoodThis is a small quiet neighborhood within 3 miles to Wrightsville Beach, Mayfair, and 8 miles to the downtown waterfront. Wrightsville beach is about a 10- min drive where there are several public parking areas with metered parking ($2.50/hour) or an $8 Uber ride. Alternatively, I have a small boat and can provide a ride to Masonboro island and back $5 per person each way for those who want to explore the magnificent seashore. Magnificent views of the sound from the private back yard and the marina. If you like birdwatching, there are some unique water birds (egrets, heron, etc.) to see. We are 3 houses down from our private neighborhood marina where there is a gazebo where you can capture even better views of the intercoastal waterway and in the distance Wrightsville Beach. From there you can launch a kayak and boat about 1.5 miles to the Masonboro State Island Reserve and spend the day on a pristine and nearly private beach. Getting AroundThe islands and beaches are accessible by car or boat. Boat owners must be fully ensured and licensed. (boat slip/ramp rental based on availability). The SpaceWater-view! Our house is a vintage beach cottage on a quiet and quaint street at the very southern end of Wrightsville Beach. The front porch looks over Banks Channel and has a great sunset view. In fact, there is water view from almost every window in the house. Sliding glass doors across the front of the house allow for big water views from the kitchen and living room. The ocean is two blocks east. There are public accesses to the ocean and to Banks Channel at both ends of our block. Three bedrooms, two full baths. Hardwood floors and beautiful old paneling throughout the house. The kitchen is lovely, well kept, mid-century vintage with a water view. The bathrooms are newly renovated. The house is very clean with lots of natural light. The house is higher than all the neighboring houses so there are clear views out of every window. Public beach accesses to both the Channel and the ocean are just down the street. There is off street parking for four cars. This house was built by my grandfather in the 1960's and has been a gathering place for my family over the years. We hope that you will find it a charming place to relax and unwind. Wifi included. Two beach cruiser bikes are kept at the house for your use. We also sail quite often and love to include our guests. Interaction with GuestsWe live nearby and are available via text or call for any questions. We're glad to help with recommendations etc. If there are any problems with the house, we are able to address them immediately. The NeighborhoodOur house is at the southend of Wrightsville Beach on a very quiet year-round residential street. We love the street because most of the houses are still the smaller old-school beach cottages. The neighborhood is a friendly community. The southend is quiet but the hustle and bustle of the summer beach life is just up the island if you care to venture out. Two beach cruisers are provided and it's easy biking. The southend is only a few blocks wide between the sound and the ocean so you're surrounded by water. The tip of the island just a few blocks away has a bird sanctuary for nesting shore birds. We have great sunset views too. Getting AroundParking on the beach is difficult in the summer. Luckily the house has four parking spaces. We provide two beach cruisers that will easily carry you to coffee shops and some shopping on the island. Or even just to get out and about. At the Blockade Runner hotel, there is a water taxi that will take you on a water tour, sunset cruise or taxi ride across the inlet to Masonboro Island, six miles of uninhabited island and empty beach.

The SpaceBEST LOCATION! Less than a mile to the Wrightsville Beach bridge. UNCW is 3.5 miles. Distances to most everything you could possibly need or enjoy on the east side of Wilmington by the Intracoastal Waterway and Wrightsville Beach are within 3 miles. Guest bedroom and private bath are on the first floor of the townhome, along with the kitchen, dining and living room, (+ back deck). Guests basically have the entire first floor to themselves. I am on the 2nd floor, the upstairs of the townhome. I am rarely in the downstairs area except to pass through entering/leaving the condo or make quick/easy meals and dine upstairs. Guests have use of the townhome neighborhood pool and tennis courts. Besides the beach, there's a wide diversity of great restaurants, shops (including Mayfaire Town Center), grocery stores (including a 24/7 grocery within a 5-min. walk), night life/live music/bars, a pharmacy, health food stores, salons, day spas, fitness centers (including one that's open 24/7), movie theater, walk-in medical clinic, and more. Biking is a convenient and fun way to get around this area. There are 2 (sometimes 3) beach cruiser bikes which guests are welcome to use. They are well-ridden but they work for the beach. Guests are provided 1 designated parking space by the townhome. If guests have 2 cars or friends/relatives visiting, additional parking spaces are available. A 3rd guest is possible if you are comfortable with sharing 1 bedroom. Also, the bed for a 3rd guest is slightly smaller than a twin sized mattress (on the floor) or you are welcome to bring your own air mattress. ***Please inquire about 3rd guest and bed before requesting a reservation. Late night or early a.m. arrivals are welcome! ***LABOR DAY WEEKEND is a 3-night stay (a minimum stay for Friday-Sunday nights). If flying in, please let me know and I may be able to give you a ride if you would like. Smoking outside on the back deck is okay. Guest AccessProvisions: Bath towels, bed linens, beach towels, a beach blanket, regular and decaf coffee (and condiments), drinking water, bottled water, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, bath wash, hypoallergenic bar soap, tooth paste, q-tips, cotton balls, full length mirror, magnified make-up mirror, 2 beach cruiser bikes (old but work, and possibly a 3rd bike), 2 beach chairs, a medium size cooler, a small cooler bag, 2 tennis racquets/tennis balls, iron/ironing board, and use of washer/dryer. There's also ice for outings or icing your cooler before checking out. Guest bedroom has a keyed lock and exterior front door is a combination lock. KITCHEN: There is plenty of room in refrigerator, on kitchen counter tops and cabinet space for you. The kitchen is equipped with general cookware. If there's any type of specialty cookware you prefer, please bring along. Guests often bring groceries, particular food items and beverages from home and there are grocery stores and coffee shops within walking distance, and other options are within about a 10 or 12-min. drive, i.e., Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods. There’s also a great fresh seafood market (Motts Channel Seafood) nearby, if interested! There is a TV/DVD player (local TV channels) in the living room, washer/dryer (also on the 1st floor, and outside deck. Guest room bed is full/double-sized. I keep 4 bedspreads and blankets, along with multi-sets of bed linens on hand. All bedding is washed and clean for your stay. Interaction with GuestsThe condo is set up so that guests are able to easily manage on their own. I'm easygoing, friendly and happy to answer any questions or make suggestions if wanted, but there's not usually a lot of interaction other than when crossing paths. I'm always available by text/phone. I hope guests will make themselves comfortable and at home, relaxing and enjoying the downstairs' area of the townhome as their own space for as much as is possible. I do not spend time any time on the 1st floor except to pass through to enter/leave the home or make quick meals (to dine upstairs). I’m not a cook so mostly it’s to make a salad or microwave something. There are times when I've never met or seen my guests. I truly enjoy meeting and talking to my guests, but my view is that it's most important that guests not have to concern themselves with their housemate. It’s their trip(!) and time for focusing on whatever the purpose of their stay. The NeighborhoodNice, safe and quiet townhome neighborhood, with pool and tennis courts. Next door to great restaurants, bars, 24-hr. grocery, boutiques, day spa, hair salon and a fitness/health center. It's the very nearest to Wrightsville Beach for 1/3 the rate. Getting AroundUber is a great way to go, at a reasonable rate. There are plenty of cabs and typically about less than a 10-min. wait. Wilmington's public transit system: There's a bus stop within a block of the condo. Buses run on the hour and many destinies include transfers, so it's a bit time consuming. Other Things to NoteLIGHT SLEEPERS should keep in mind that this is a 2 bedroom townhome/condo share. Guests have a housemate (me) and it's likely that we may not be on the same schedule. It's a nice sized 2-story, 2-bedroom/bath condo, with guest bedroom/bath downstairs and my bedroom/bath upstairs. Sounds from my upstairs' space, such as music or videos do not carry over to the downstairs' space, so guests are unlikely to be disturbed by this; and vice versa, from downstairs to upstairs, so guests never have to worry about sound carrying over to the upstairs. Light sleepers may sometimes hear sounds from my movement within the condo, such as my use of the front entrance to the home, preparing 15-min. meals in the kitchen, or going up/down the stairs. There is a fan in the guest bedroom for extra cooling, which may also be used to help drown out any sounds from my movement in the condo. Light sleepers have the option to bring earplugs :)

The SpaceThis is a designated Airbnb room. The closet is empty as well as the chest of drawers so there is lots of storage space for luggage and belongings. I have several duvet covers as I wash them after each guest's visit. So, you may not get the same one as photographed. Guest AccessGuests will have the use of our kitchen, wifi, laundry, refrigerator, own thermostat control (please be energy conscious), a lovely screened in porch area where smoking is allowed. Great place for breakfast or to read a book. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy helping guests if they need suggestions for restaurants or anything else. There are lots of evening outdoor concerts through-out the summer. My favorite is Thurs. night in Carolina Beach where there is music and fireworks when it gets dark. My husband and I are home more than we are out. But we are quite personable if you feel like having a conversation. We have met so many super nice people through being hosts. The NeighborhoodWe love this neighborhood because it is on a cul de sac...not much traffic. It is quiet, safe and properties are well maintained. There is a large backyard with lots of privacy Getting AroundYou will need a car. When you arrive, we will have a parking space for you to use. Other Things to NoteSeptember and October are wonderful months to visit the beach! No check-ins after 9 PM but I can make exceptions with reason...definitely never after 10 PM. The SpaceFor those who would like a little more privacy, we provide a room and bathroom on a floor all to yourself. You also have access to a deck and a covered porch overlooking a pond and marsh where you can enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. We do not offer a shared living space (our living quarters are on the second floor and you will be on the first) but we may cross paths in the foyer. The bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam topper. Wireless internet is available. There is a mounted tv which comes with cable and a dvd player (and a small selection of dvds). Half of a large closet is provided for you. The windows bring in plenty of light or you can close the blackout shades if you would like to sleep in. The full bath with a shower has shampoo, conditioner, and soap as well as plush towels. There is a mini-fridge, a hot water kettle, and a coffee maker for your convenience. We provide a variety of teas, freshly ground coffee, as well as sugar and cream. If you need or forget something, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Beach towels are available for borrowing. We provide you with a welcome guide with lots of information and recommendations for restaurants, shopping, etc.. Guest AccessGuests will access their private suite from the front door. You also have access to a large covered porch and deck in the rear of the house with lovely views. There is no shared living space (we ask that you not wonder upstairs). There is a locked storage space for your use if you have a bike, surfboard, etc… Check-in is at 4pm. The NeighborhoodWe are just minutes from great restaurants, bars, cinema and diverse nightlife. We are a quick 2.5 miles to Wrightsville Beach so you can be there in 5 minutes by car. We are just .4 miles from the cross-city trail which is great for walks, jogs or bike riding. UNCW is less than 10 minutes away, and the airport and downtown are 15 minutes away. Our neighborhood is secluded and quiet. You will enjoy the beauty of being on a saltwater creek and freshwater pond. Getting AroundWilmington has a public transit system but it is only recommended as a last resort. Uber has come to Wilmington and we have found it to be a good means of transportation. There are also several cab companies (we provide a lists of them in your welcome packet). There is street parking in front of our house. Other Things to NoteThe hum of the garage door opening can be heard from the guest room. On weekdays, we may use the garage door as early as 6:45am but never before 9am on the weekends. The wrap around porch is the perfect place to rock, read or visit with family & friends. Swimming, fishing, sunbathing & surfing are just steps away. Shopping, museums, golf, wineries & more close by. For the boater in the family, from our dock to the ocean is clear water. No bridges or power lines.
