The SpaceFun and warm couple love to host travelers in their unique home in the north Philly suburbs. Private safe wooded neighborhood. You will have a private room with either a King, Queen or twin sized bed and a bath shared with other guests, if any. Enjoy a cozy fire in the cool weather, and our azalea filled patio in the spring and summer. As we mature as airbnb hosts, we find that we are best suited for longer term guests (2 weeks +). This is a perfect place to stay for doing medical rotations, or training at Salus, or doing an internship, or to stay while you find a more permanent home to buy or rent. If we don't have longer term guests, we welcome overnight guests. You are welcome to use the kitchen and laundry facilities. We stock healthy, delicious fruit, yogurt, coffees, teas, breads and cereals for you to enjoy before you set out on your Philly adventures. This is an active home. Though the guest area is private, the public areas are where we live, eat and play. We have a lot of guests and you are likely to walk in on a people playing music and waltzing in the kitchen, especially when our daughter and her friends are here. If you are looking for a pristine hotel-like environment, this is not the place for you. It's clean, but lived in. We have a sweet Cavalier Spaniel and 2 cats. Your well behaved pet is welcome, but check with us first. If your pet doesn't get along in the house, they will stay in your room. Leave your car with us and take a quick 20 minute train ride to the heart of the city. We are also on a direct train route to the airport ( 50 minutes). One hour drive to Amish country, or to the wineries and antique shops of New Hope. Guest AccessGuests have access to the living room, dining room and kitchen as well as the outdoor patio for relaxing in nice weather. Laundry facilities are also available. Interaction with GuestsIf we are home, we interact a lot with our guests. Many become like family. We eat together, enjoy a drink in the evening, play music if you are into that sort of thing. Getting AroundWe are a 10 minute walk from the Septa train line that runs into center city philadelphia. Train takes about 20 minutes and costs $10-12 round trip. There are shopping areas within a mile walk from the house, but nothing right next door. The area is great for walking in, enjoying the quiet neighborhood, grand turn of the century philadelphia homes, and two nice parks.

I am a kicked back person, and on the go with work and when at home usually at my desk..Not big on tv although cable tv is available in the comfy living room. Summers there are lots of gatherings on the patio with a fire in the firepit. I conserve energy whenever possible, ie: short showers, lights off upon leaving room, water off while brushing teeth. Keeping the bathroom in acceptable condition is requested. Quiet times from 10pm-7am, so if you're a night owl this may not be your best choice, unless you are a quiet reader. Most people that come to my home find it comfortable, peaceful and welcoming. I do have a sweet cat, so take note if you have allergies. I hope you find your way here for a visit too!

The SpaceMine is a ranch house, with one step to enter the front door. The room is furnished with a Tempurpedic mattress, a dresser, table and chairs and a bookshelf. There is sun streaming into the room most of the day. There are beautiful trees on and around the property. There is a large yard in the back and plenty of outdoor access. I have four adult cats living in the house. If you have allergies or don't like cats, please keep this in mind. Because I work from my home, I do my best to keep cat hair and litter box odor to a minimum. I don't want someone walking into my home and be hit in the face with animal smells. While you are staying here we can keep the bedroom of limits to the cats, but they do like to pass their days sitting on the sunny windowsills. If you enjoy cats you may even have one snuggle with you at night! Interaction with GuestsThe house is open and spacious. As a result sound travels rather easily. I tend towards keeping the house quiet and enjoy the birds singing outside. I work from home most days of the week seeing clients, usually in the treatment room, but occasionally I teach in the living room. I am excited to have you stay with me, and please know I do not expect for either of us to be entertaining each other. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood has an historic flair with Victorian homes, old growth trees, a nearby arboretum and a park with a community gardens. It is a beautiful area to walk in and through, with a treasure trove of history dating back to the Revolutionary War. Deer, owls, foxes, bird and bunnies are our fellow outdoor neighbors. It's not an odd sight to find deer grazing in the yard, nor is it uncommon to be awaken by a robin singing. Immediately local are a coffee shop and a pizza restaurant. A supermarket, Creekside Co-Op, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are a couple of miles away, easily accessible by car. In Jenkintown, the next neighborhood over, you will find a small movie theater, banks, drug stores and a great variety of restaurants. Another 15 minutes east and you will find a plethora of Korean restaurants and a fabulous Asian market. Getting AroundThe walk to the local train station is a 15 minutes, with multiple trains per hour with access to Center City - about a 25 minute ride. There is also a bus which will take you towards Glenside and Chestnut Hill. My home is about a mile from Arcadia University and Salus University. Chestnut Hill is a quick 15 minute drive. Center City is typically a 30 minute drive door to door. Also easily accessible through Center City, are buses and trains to New York City and Washington DC. The Pennsylvania Turnpike is a 10 minute drive. Although the area is residential and quiet, seemingly tucked away, your access to the surrounding area and all it has to offer is easy.
