The SpaceEnjoy kangaroo watching with your family and friends in your stunning Chateau on 5 acres, by a pristine forest near the beach. Amazing location, location, location...between magical Yallingup (2km) and Dunsborough (5km) bordering a pristine National forest from where a family of kangaroos often come up to the Chateau outdoor lounges and BBQ. Many new to the area do not realize the benefits of this NW part of Margaret River with is 2 separate coast lines almost guaranteeing a wind sheltered and calm beach to play on...or even a beach with trees lining it like at nearby world famous Meelup Beach. Tranquility, there simply is no other house in the region like the Chateau with 50cm thick curved walls and high curved ceilings, with a giant 100m2 family area full of leather lounges to interact in, yet with spaces for your own privacy. Wander the adjoining Naturaliste National Park that stretches all the way to Yallingup and beach lagoon, surf and incredible beach-side playground and lawned free BBQ area. Fall sleep listening to the ocean waves on big swells and calmer wind evenings. We have a family of kangaroos that come and go each day from the forest, they have a white patch on their forehead. A couple of big males, and the odd joey with their mums. They like the grass around the house in summer. Sometimes we hear them chewing in the night they are so close as they chew on the buffalo grass. Four of the five bedrooms, along with the living area, have screened French doors that over look the North of the property and allow some the of the words freshest air to invigorate you as you rest. They open onto the beautiful poured limestone verandas hanging with grape vines and passion-fruit vines, there are sheltered lounges to completely unwind an soak up the natural world all around you.. Besides the famous Yallingup Beach and its fantastic new play ground are just three minutes drive away with micro brewery, art gallery and restaurants under one minute drive. For eco lovers like myself, the architect designed home is north facing and fully solar passive, the rendered walls are R35 to R50 insulating rated! Normal homes are R3 to 8 or so. The home is solar powered into the grid, has its own generator for power outage emergencies, uses grey water systems on garden...currently feeding the bananas that are flowering early, is water self sufficient and has a state of the art european underfloor hydronic heating system running off energy efficient heat pumps.... The first in WA. Yes. Barefoot warmth .. board shorts and or bikinis (depending on your inclinations) mid winter !! A winter-less home, we decided to be warm (got soft I think) after getting spoiled from years living in Hawaii. Materials locally sourced where possible, in 2004, the famous, roughly 100 year old St Patricks Church in Bunbury was destroyed by a mini tornado. I purchased and restored the internal and French doors in 4 of the bedrooms and most of the large and very old timber rafters that were holding the cathedral roof up. The kitchen counter tops and breakfast bar are custom made from rare curly marri. The locally invented double insulated roof, mimics an airplane wing construction as it is assembled under tension, pre-rolled to a unique wave shape that is self supporting internally over large areas, allowing the massive unsupported "ball room" effect in the living area. There is so much more but best you see for yourself. Bedding Configuration and Free Bed Linen use. The Masters Studio room (East end) ~ 20m2 Comes with Foxtel Cable TV. 1 x queen bed in French doors to patio with star gazing from bed through high curved windows. 1 x Click Clack Leather Sofa Bed The Alcove room (East end) ~ 16m2 1 x queen bed in French doors to patio room with star gazing from bed through high curved windows. 1 x Click Clack Leather Sofa Bed Note: The Alcove and Master share a closed off section of the patio that allows mum and dad or whomever as an outdoor hideaway to really unwind. The Lunar Room (West end) ~ 13.5 m2 A large room that features modern curved bed setting, and a large curved wall. 1 x queen bed in French doors to patio room with star gazing from bed through high curved windows. 1 x Click Clack Leather Sofa Bed Jarrah Room (West end) ~ 13.5m2 A large room on North West corner of house featuring solid timber traditional style setting but with a curve or two. 1 x double bed in French door room with star gazing from bed through high curved windows. The Hideaway Room (West end) ~ 10.5m2 Features a modern more zen fit out 1 x double bed standard size room garden view. Best suited for kids, small adults or one person but still a good sized room for any two people. 1 x leather sofa double bed in Nautilus shaped 100m2 living area. 1 x single fold away mattress. Bathrooms There are 2 bathrooms, one with a spa bath. There are 2 completely separate toilet rooms with its own wash basin and mirrors. There is a Hot and Cold Outdoor shower to wash off after beach adventures. Accomodation Guidelines and guest information Strictly no parties allowed. Strictly no Leaver groups, please do not contact to avoid disappointment.
