However, we are tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful valley with great views. We are just over an hour from Adelaide and around 30 minutes from Cape Jervis and the ferry to Kangaroo Island. Getting AroundYou will need your own transport to stay with us as there is no public transport. There is plenty of free parking on the property. While it is very quiet and peaceful, we are only 3 km from the country town of Yankalilla and the beaches at Normanville and Carrickalinga. We have a cellar door on site that is open for wine tasting and lunch at weekends (or by appointment during the week). We are family friendly with lots of space for the kids to run around and explore. They can also feed the chickens and sheep, often the highlight of a child's visit.

                      Dee's Villa is a purpose built bed and breakfast property. It is set in a secluded woodlot on the corner of our warmblood horsestud. Not another house to be seen as you enjoy spectacular sunsets whilst enjoying a local wine on your front verandah. Ten minutes drive to the secluded Myponga Beach or to Yankalilla Bay, encompassing the pristine Carrickalinga and Normanville beaches. The Villa has a 5* energy rating, it makes full use of the summer sea breezes, having French doors to the front, plus both bedrooms have French doors opening to the rear courtyard and hot tub. Add to this the polished cement floors and overhead fans in each room and take full advantage of our Mediteranean climate. For winter warmth we have underfloor heating in all areas, plus a wood fire for your enjoyment. The Villa is ideal for one or two couples wishing to relax and unwind in a tranquil setting. The main bedroom has a QS bed, bedroom two has twin king singles which can be joined to make a KS bed. Children and small dogs are welcome. The Yankalilla Bay area offers a wide variety of activities. Lazing on the beach, fishing, diving and snorkelling, dive the historic Hobart or see if you can discover your own leafy sea dragon. We have 3 golf courses within a 15 minute drive, we are only half an hour from the Deep Creek National Park and Rapid Bay, the departure point for the Kangaroo Island ferries.. Try a beach horse ride with High Country Trails at Normanville or sample a local wine at a nearby boutique winery, add this to some top dining extablishments and arts/craft glleries and our area can cater to all tastes.

Richard's attention to detail was most appreciated, from the daisies freshly picked from the garden and also leaving the air-conditioning on for us before we arrived on the scorching day. We were very impressed with the property; as the listing describes, it was truly a cross between a country and coastal lifestyle. The property looked just as it was listed, however surprisingly more spacious. The scenery was breathtaking, with views that stretched across Second Valley to Rapid Bay, which is all only within a half an hours drive. The home is fully equipped with all the essentials for making a lovely home cooked meal with the local supermarket, Foodland only down the road. The neighbourhood was very quiet and tranquil, with a friendly dog that lived on the property, and also horses which lived across the road. This was the perfect getaway that we needed, would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a little retreat!                             Come to this most private and unique getaway, located within an hour of Adelaide. Wake up with the birds singing and kangaroos grazing. The house is situated amongst 80 acres of beef grazing land. The rural and ocean views are simply spectacular. Built in 2008, the house is very comfortable. It features jarrah floorboards throughout and has a lovely open plan feel downstairs, with the bedrooms upstairs. Both upstairs and downstairs have reverse cycle air conditioners for heating and cooling. The wood fire also heats the whole house. (We can provide wood for a small charge or you can bring your own) Enjoy eating meals on the veranda and balcony, while watching the amazing sunsets. The stars on a cloudless night are incredible. The property is located 5 minutes from Carrickalinga and Myponga beaches and is only 20 minutes from McLaren Vale.
