Property backs up to the beautiful Delaware Canal Towpath. You can walk (also popular with cyclists) the towpath 1 mile into quaint tiny town of Yardley to our bakeries, restaurants, and, of course a Starbucks! If you are a bit more athletic you can walk the other direction about 3 miles to the historic town of Washington Crossing. (Yes, on Christmas Eve he really did cross the River there to give a nasty surprise to the drunken Hessians quartered in Trenton.) Riding stables nearby.
You can explore historic Center City Philadelphia 30-40 minutes away. There you will find the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Betsy Ross House. A few blocks away from 'Old City' is the Theatre District and numerous choices for fine dining. A short cab ride will take you to the 'Benjamin Franklin Parkway' where the world renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art resides. Next door to the museum are the Franklin Institute and the acclaimed Barnes Art Museum.
If you choose to take a ride about 30-40 minutes east you can spread your blanket on the beach of the famous (or infamous!) Jersey Shore.
Closer to home and a short ride along the River you can spend an afternoon in the Art/ tourist town of New Hope which proudly supports our gay and lesbian community.
You will have access to the contents of the pantry and fridge. I will supply initial staples including milk, bread, eggs, butter, coffee, teas, sugar, honey, olive oil, If you have any special requests for eating/drinking supplies, please let me know.
I can have your special additional groceries waiting for you, including wine, beer, etc. for the cost of the groceries (I will leave you the receipts) and an additional fee (+$50 to $100 depending on the amount and complexity of the order).
Please know that I am an excellent cook and baker. I can make anything from lasagna to roasted chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy to chicken soup with dumplings, salads. I also make homemade bread, biscuits and pies. Fudge topped brownies! All homemade and made with the best ingredients. If you wish to have meals left for you for reheating, let me know and we can discuss the cost. You won't be disappointed!
