The SpaceComfortable and historically unique home in the area. Guest AccessMake yourself at home. You will have full access to the kitchen, washer, dryer, livingroom (with TV), porch with swing, as well as (guest) access to the wifi & upstairs office area (great for the traveling professional). **Please note - the guest room is on the second floor, and with this house being built in the 1920's, the stairs are rather steep.** Interaction with GuestsI am a stay at home mom, and my husband John is a local entrepreneur that also helps with this listing. We have one child (so far), as well as two large, friendly dogs; a golden retriever (Dexter) and silver labrador (Yuengling). We also have a mostly outdoor cat named Emma. I will often be around unless I have a coffee date or business meeting. The NeighborhoodQuaint and quiet neighborhood located near Lancaster, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, and just minutes from historic Downtown York.
Explore attractions like 1st Friday, catch a show at The Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center, or explore what's happening at the nearby Pullo Center, within walking distance, located on Penn State York's beautiful campus.
Feeling like becoming one with nature? Explore the Rail Trail, stroll the trailways at Rocky Ridge, or hike around nearby Lake Redman. Ski Roundtop is also just around the corner.
Hungry? Central Market & Penn Farmer's Market are a short trip away in Downtown York, or try Victor's fine dining just down the road. Getting AroundYork is a great place to visit! We are located just off the Mt. Rose Avenue exit of Interstate 83 at "the top" of Lancaster Avenue. Rabbit Transit, Taxi or Uber are great bets if you want to leave your car at home. We can pick up (for a fee) at Baltimore (BWI), Harrisburg (HIA) or Philadelphia (PHL) airports. If you need to drive yourself, we have ample parking in our driveway, or on the street if you have more than one vehicle. Other Things to NoteWe do have a young child. She sleeps through the night with no issues and does not generally wake up to noises (A "win" for all of us!). The stairs to the guest room are slightly steep as they were built in 1926. If you are concerned about climbing the stairs, this may not be a good fit for you. Also we do have two big dogs, a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. They are very enthusiastic and friendly when meeting new friends, but won't hurt you.
