The SpaceThis romantic, light and bright, non-smoking one bedroom house with gorgeous sun-room is awaiting your arrival. Minutes from "Old Town Yucca", the Integratron, Joshua Tree National Park, Giant Rock and world famous cowboy saloon "Pappy & Harriett's". I have meticulously chosen the furnishing to create a creative and relaxing ambiance for your enjoyment. Guest AccessEverything at the house and the 1.25 acres of high desert landscape is at your disposal during your stay. This includes the classic 70's RV ( for an additional $50.00 ). So if the kids or your buddies want to spend the night on-board the "shag wagon" it will be available. Note: The RV bathroom is not functioning at this time however. Interaction with GuestsI will not be present during your stay. My section of the property which is the converted garage is used to store stuff and unless you have an emergency it is unlikely that you will see me. The NeighborhoodThere are various restaurants in nearby Joshua Tree (including Natural Sisters, a vegan and gluten free cafe and Pie for the People, also with gluten free pizza along with many other type pizzas), art studios/galleries, shops, yoga studio, etc. and can drive or walk to Old Town Yucca. With a Super Wal Mart and a Home Depot and just 20 miles to Palms Springs resort. The famous sound baths of the Integratron within 10 minutes in Landers and 10 minutes to Pioneer Town and the great Pappy's and Harriet's saloon for music, food, and concerts. Getting AroundYour car, horse, ATV, or just fancy footwork (hiking) will get you around this beautiful desert landscape. Other Things to NotePlease bring your own drinking water. I will always have 2 gallons on the counter top in the kitchen but it is always good to have more. Tap water is OK but needs to run a few minutes to clear completely. Please use the 'Raiders' bin for your recyclable containers etc

The SpaceCell phones usually work here, but there's no landline phone or cable TV or Internet. Coffee maker, microwave, fridge, stove, and a portable heater are inside, as well as a full bathroom and full sized bed in a bedroom. The location is on a dirt road about a mile off of Old Woman Springs Road. You will probably need a sturdy vehicle or something not too low to the ground to get down the road. Most cars except maybe sports cars would make it fine! Please realize that it is on a dirt road and may be a little dusty! From (URL HIDDEN) (definition of casita) 1. a small crude dwelling forming part of a shantytown inhabited by Mexican laborers in the southwestern U.S. 2.a luxurious bungalow serving as private guest accommodations at a resort hotel, especially in the southwestern U.S. or Mexico. Our casita is somewhere in between #1 and #2! It really makes us happy to share this casita with nice folks who enjoy the view as much as we do! Done have compared it to glamping, as it is just a plain cabin on 2.5 acres of natural desert. 1 bedroom casita on over 2 acres of land overlooking Yucca Valley. Kids are welcome but would need to be supervised closely since there are a couple of drop off/ledges, etc. Check in and out times are negotiable; it mostly depends on whether there's a guest the previous night. I live almost an hour away but will be available by cell phone or email and could most likely drive up there and help if there is a major issue, unless I'm out of town. (FYI-I don't consider finding a cup with a lipstick stain on it in the cabinet with half a dozen other clean cups urgent or a reason for a refund. Please don't send me a photo of it!) If you let me know of any needs as soon (or before) you book, I will try to meet them. I'll try to meet you with the key but after that you'll have the place all to yourself. The next door neighbors are happy to help. I'm usually available by cell or email. (Email may be better at times.) It is very peaceful and quiet and remote. You can usually hear the coyotes in the evening! It's a short drive (about 20 minutes) to Pioneertown and Joshua Tree National Park. The sunrise is really something to see! No public transportation, and it is 1 mile off of Old Woman Springs Road on a bumpy dirt road. Use caution at a couple of the turns since you can't see oncoming traffic very well. Pioneertown is about 8 miles away and can be accessed by Pipes Canyon Road or Hwy 62. There is no longer a back road access to it. You may park off the road along the wooden pole in front of the main house. Depending on the weather in the winter, may need 4 wheel drive. It's probably a great area for mountain bikes, ATV's and dirt bikes! Guest Access1 bedroom casita on over 2 acres of land overlooking Yucca Valley. The SpaceThe beauty and peace of the high desert can be found in the desert seasons... the sensual evenings of summer, the snow capped peaks over warm sands in winter, the sunsets and stars of autumn, the blooms of spring. One can hike from this homestead cabin to boulder mountains and the national park. It is a 5 minute drive to the Park ave entrance of Joshua Tree National Park or to the cafes, galleries, shops and music venues of the town of Joshua Tree. Desert Dharma cabin is surrounded by hundreds of acres of quiet desert where tortoise, jack rabbits, quail, cactus wren, coyotes and roadrunners live. A long veranda provides a shaded place to read or have an outside breakfast or candlelight dinner. An antique tricycle and seesaw are for kids' play. State of the art heating and cooling provide respite from desert elements. Antiques grace the comfort of the many sitting and relaxing spaces. A queen bed and a single bed are in each of the bedrooms. A tub and shower are in the tranquil bathroom, and a clawfoot bathtub allows for outside bathing. A chimenea is for a small fire during the crystalline star filled nights. Dining is prepared in a fully equipped kitchen with a large oak table to gather around. A special feature of Desert Dharma cabin is that all proceeds go towards helping abandoned dogs find homes. Dogs, part of Desert Dharma dog rescue, are housed safely in pens on the five acres around the cabin. Desert Dharma appreciates it if you take this into consideration. Guests are welcome to think about adopting a rescue dog. Desert Dharma cabin is two miles from Bhakti Fest and Shakti Fest! Also close to the annual spring Joshua Tree Music Festival. Wonders are everywhere in the desert. Time seems to slow down, and the sun enlivens our spirit as it brushes our eyelids in the morning. The bouldering of the national park, a quiet walk among fantastically shaped Joshua trees, the gazing of brilliant sunrises and sunsets call out to us. The musicians and artists in the area make the magic come alive. Explore... Guest AccessDesert Dharma cabin is two miles from Bhakti Fest and Shakti Fest! The SpaceProbably the nicest most natural Joshua Tree National Park-like land of all the available Airbnb listings on here. This place is truly special. Just 10 minutes from the National Park, on acres of private pristine land and wondrous views in a simply modernized 2 bedroom homestead cabin. Boulders to explore galore, tons of wild animals (road runners, desert bunnies, coyotes, quails, jackrabbits and more!), privacy (it is the last house before 100s of acres of uninhabited land) and great location that is less than a few minutes into town for supplies. On 1/4 of dirt road that's well maintained and accessible by absolutely any car. The property is featured in Lianne La Havas' Music Video, Green and Gold! Clear your mind and enjoy the natural Joshua Tree environment at your own pace. Property is surrounded by a one in a million natural desert landscape as a private "backyard" to explore and hike. This is an amazing venue if you'd like a secluded getaway for you and yours to enjoy from the Back Porch with peace and quiet plus amenities while getting to enjoy a more natural setting than you would find on most days inside the National Park. The sky is unimaginable at night - it feels like you're in a fish bowl looking out into the universe - Jupiter, Venus, the Milky Way, +++++ more are all visible with the naked eye. If there's a star you can't see, money back guarantee :) There's now a tv with Netflix/HBO for tube gazing as well! Please note: all commercial photography must obtain written permission beforehand. Thank you!

The SpaceLost Coyote Cabin is located on top a hill with views of Joshua Tree Nation Park. Perfect for one to four adults or a small family seeking adventures in the desert. Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is only minutes away. Pause at any window and you will see abundant wildlife. The location is perfect for stargazing, birding, outdoor yoga, cooking or just enjoying a good glass of wine with friends around a outdoor fire. The cabin feels remote and is the last house at end of the road. The cabin decor is Americana blended with the Bohemian Culture of the high desert! Living room is cozy with an electric fireplace, air conditioner, TV, DVD player and a nice stereo, bring your IPod! One bedroom is the 'kids room' with native decor and a rack full of blankets to stay warm and cozy. The master bedroom is decorated in style we call vintage glamorous with a beautiful cast iron queen size bed. Coming from Southern California it is conveniently located before the West most popular entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Centrally located for visiting Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneer Town and the vintage shops of Old Town Yucca Valley. Located only one mile from grocery stores and restaurants, making it a quick trip if you need something. After checking in most of our communication is usually done by phone or texting. The NeighborhoodThe location is on a hillside above the East end of Yucca Valley with overlooking views of downtown Joshua Tree Village. The cabin as little to no traffic and is very quite, except for the occasional coyote howls. It is the last house at the end of a dirt road. A neighbor is located across the street, no houses behind or on the sides. The backyard feels secluded and remote. Popular locations of interest are just a quick jaunt away. 5.5 miles to Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center on Park Blvd in Joshua Tree Village. 7 miles to Pappy and Harriet's in PioneerTown 3 miles to Joshua Tree Retreat Center 15 miles to The Integratron in Landers. 1 mile to resturaunts and grocery stores. 1 mile to both Hwy 62 and Hwy 247. Getting AroundYou will need a car! The cabin is located less then mile from the highway. Small cars will have no trouble diving on the dirt road, its part of the adventure and adds to the remote desert feel. I will provide you with detailed directions so you won't get lost in the desert. Other Things to NoteJackrabbit Homestead Cabins history is part of the Small-Tract Homestead Act of 1938. This allowed people to homestead on 5 arce's of land provided they improved the land with a home or cabin. Most of the desert cabins were built by weekenders like us seeking to escape city life. We purchased this cabin from the original homesteader for land value only, it was abandon! This was before major stores like Wall Mart or Home Depots could be found in the high desert and the only hardware store in town was closed on Sundays. A VW Bus was our only vehicle and it double has our work truck. We didn't have extra money to buy things and have them delivered. We learned to embrace the culture of reusing and repurposing things found at local swapmeets, garage sales and thrift stores. What was once work rebuilding the cabin become passion. Today these cabins are sought after and all to often are torn-down for their location with panoramic views. Lost Coyote Cabin is a testament to the history and culture of owning a Jackrabbit Homestead Cabin.

The SpaceI have lived here and loved my life here in the high desert of Southern California for the past 15 years and I am inviting you to step into the world I live in. You'll live amongst my favorite art pieces created by me in the past 30 years as well as the art of my friends. Guest AccessLots of stars in the sky, especially if it's not on a full moon. You may want enjoy the view from the star bed, an outdoor bed. Either myself or sometimes another guest may be staying in the airstream trailer 75 feet away, so the yard will be shared but if it's me in the trailer, I can give you privacy if you want, I go to my studio in Joshua Tree almost every day. Interaction with GuestsI am very available for any questions you have and I'm fine with giving you privacy, if that's what you want. I also love to make healthy foods and have given raw food classes in my cabin. The NeighborhoodI love that I live on a dirt road. It makes people drive slower, my trailer on airbnb is called "life in the slow lane." I am good friends with the white horse named Princess a few houses down the road from me. You'll drive by her and her friend Sapphire the goat, Corky the dog and the brown horse, Princess's new boyfriend. I have great neighbors and feel so blessed to live where I live. We are all fond of our neighborhood and look out for one another. Getting AroundThere is a bus service but you'd have to access it from the 62 highway and it's a very steep hill to the nearest bus stop so it's not recommended. Some girls visiting from LA came by greyhound bus to Palm Springs and then got an Uber driver to bring them here. Other Things to NoteOpen the curtains, the views are amazing! Each window is a picture window. I love this place and it is sacred to me, my sacred space, so I appreciate you respecting the space. I charge $100-$500 per day extra for photo shoots.
