The SpaceBuilt in 2008. Traditional, farmhouse style exterior with modern, open airy (website hidden) with DVD player, tons of DVD's, radio in kitchen, wifi, patio furniture on front and back porches. perfect for 2 couples or artist looking for peace and quiet. Kitchen has all new appliances, open doors in kitchen lead to the back deck. 1 open, loft style, bedroom, with sliding doors to close the space off upstairs. Downstairs a second bedroom with a queen size bed. Plenty of firewood stocked in the front yard. Family friendly as I have a 9 year old whom frequents the home with me often. Guest AccessAll access except for one small closet in the upper bedroom. Interaction with GuestsI am available to interact as much as needed. I am a huge fan of the area and still discovering new things every time I visit. The NeighborhoodFifteen minutes from the home is the Spa at Woodloch, rated one of the top 10 spa's in the world. There is skiing at Big Bear on Masthope Mountain, the Delaware River is 5 minutes away, Skinners Falls is the place to go and lay out and get your swim on. Antiquing in all of the neighboring towns. Great food all around the area. Really a perfect area to take a weekend and explore. Getting AroundCar is necessary, unless you ride a horse. Train from Penn station to Port Jervis station is also option but need to be picked up from there by car or cab. Other Things to NoteIf booking the home on a Holiday weekend I ask for the minimum of a 3 night stay. If fireplace is used, make sure the flu is open. Make sure flu is closed when leaving your stay. Never leave the home if there are cinders still warm. There is a metal pale near the woodpile inside that you can shovel everything into and leave out on the walkway to the home. (Not on the decks) Thermostats are always on 50°. When you get into the house you can adjust to what u find is comfortable (70° is usually a good temp). Please do not forget to turn the thermostats (lower level and ground floor) back to 50°. Garbage: please leave garbage in bags then put into the pale on the back deck. Please make sure the lid is secured properly or the bears will come. Hammock: if you open the front door and pretty much walk straight to the wood line you will see 2 pine trees that have O rings to hang the hammock. There are 2 hammocks hanging inside the kitchen closet on the back of the door. Please shake off before bringing back in. Motion sensor light on front porch. There are two light switches to the right of the front door, one controls the lights right outside the door on both sides and the other is for a spot light that is connected to a motion sensor. I leave that on as if you arrive at night the light will go on if you pull your vehicle up to the end of the driveway.(otherwise it gets pitch black and hard to see) There are gates to block off the stairs for children located in the lower level bedroom closet. Please leave all linens and towels in the boiler room at the end of your stay.

We won't be present during your stay-- however, we will be available via phone, text or email to answer any questions you have. We will do our very best to make your stay comfortable and convenient. The NeighborhoodThe Delaware River Valley is the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Barryville was originally a canal town, with some historical remnants of canal life remaining, and a thriving art and design community seeking refuge here. Guests can experience nature in its diverse landscapes including rivers and lakes, forest woodlands, pastures and mountains. We are close to modern conveniences , yet it can feel like a far-away retreat. The tranquility and stillness at night makes for a restful sleep, with plenty of nearby activities to keep you active during the day (if that's your thing). We like to get away from it all by going in country drives, visiting local farm-to-table markets, or experiencing a quiet hike in the woods. There are also an array of local theatres, art galleries and music venues with a 20-30 minute drive. Getting AroundEach of these stops are about 30 minutes away: Metro North to Port Jervis, NY Coach USA to Milford, PA You will need a vehicle to access the area. Other Things to NotePets: we are pet lovers but unfortunately cannot accommodate your furry loved one. This helps ensure a healthy environment for everyone, including allergy-sensitive guests. Please also keep the wooden-gate closed to prevent the many local deer (or other larger animals) from feasting on our garden buffet! Children: our cottage is not child-proofed, so we request that any visiting children be aged 6 or older and very well-supervised at all times. LGBTQs: are our friends and family! Please know you are more than welcome in our home. Recycling: It's important to us, and daily-use bins are conveniently located in the kitchen; when leaving, place all recycled goods and garbage in the designated areas in the garage. Do not leave any food outside of the cottage because wildlife (including black bears, raccoons, possums and anything in-between with four feet) will be very interested.

The SpaceHouse West is a special property, and an extremely cool home, that was brand newly-renovated throughout the entire house (Finished in June 16'). At it's heart, the home still is a "cabin in the woods," so if you like rustic, with a but of an upgrade, you've found the right place. We're located on the same road as the Tusten Trail (great hiking - a 10 minute walk from our home), and a 5 minute walk from the takeoff point for canoe trips and river rafting -- the perfect day trip! Guest AccessThe garage and two-sheds are the only "off-limits" structures on the property. Interaction with GuestsMost likely, we will not be at the house to greet you; however, we will be on call, and we have a local handyman in the area -- we don't foresee anything going wrong, but just in case :) The NeighborhoodThe home is on the famous 'Ten Mile River Access' street, far off any major roads just a couple minute walk from a canoe/kayak/white water rafting take-off spot. (Great day adventure!) Head to The Heron or Gerard's River Grill on Main St. for a great meal. At night, expect complete silence (minus animal noises, and the flow of the river). The street has very minimal traffic and is perfect for a morning walk or run along the river. We have a full house manual with tips on maximizing your trip that you'll receive a few days before your arrival. Getting AroundYou'll need a car to get to the main town of Narrowsburg (10 minute drive away).

The SpaceThe local towns around Yulan are Barryville (2 miles), Eldred (2 miles), Narrowsburg (11 miles) and Glen Spey (10 miles). All three have tremendous dining options and bundles of antiquing and shopping. Barryville has a Saturday morning Farmer's Market that is incredible! The grocery store (Peck's) is only three miles away and has all the essentials that you'll need. If you are inclined to go rafting, canoeing, or kayaking along the Delaware River, there are at least 8 different companies within a five mile radius of the house. The Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center (former Woodstock concert site and the museum there is worth a visit!), is only 15 miles away and has a tremendous line up of performances throughout the summer and fall. And the wonderful Kadampa Meditation Center and World Peace Buddhist Temple are only 10 short miles from the Laurel Home. Guest AccessFeel free to explore all 17 acres of the property. The house is completely yours. While there is a washer and dryer in the basement, it's about the only part of the house that you'd probably not want to hang out. There is a den/tv room in the back of the house and a study/office/reading room upstairs which are both open to use. Interaction with GuestsMost times, I will not be around during your visit. However, I always encourage guests to keep in touch before, during, and after the visit with any needs they might have. If you daydream about relaxing lakeside, gazing out at the still water, with no sound but birds and the occasional ripple from a rising fish, Blue Heron Lakehouse is the house for you. The bluestone terrace among the pines, down by the water’s edge will be your favorite hangout when you’re not out on the rowboat fishing, or just taking a spin around the lake. And of course there’s nothing like swimming in the crystal clear lake water. But don't take our word for it. The November 2014 issue of Philadelphia Magazine says,: Sit in an Adirondack chair, sip steaming coffee, and overlook the lake that's steps from your cabin's back door. There's a canoe for you to use, and, come winter, Rockwellian ice-skating, plus skiing at nearby Big Bear. This simple house is nicely appointed (sharp knives! At a vacation rental!) The living room has two large sliding glass doors leading out to a balcony, so the water is a presence whether indoors or out. Out on the balcony is a dining area where you can enjoy meals prepared on the gas barbecue. The large living room / kitchen is open plan, and flooded with light. Three bedrooms are down the hall, two with queen beds and one with two twins. The master bedroom has its own bath. For some renters, winter is the favored season at Blue Heron Lakehouse, combining quiet seclusion and traditional winter landscapes with plenty of local activities. The house has myriad winter sports activities right outside the back door. The lake freezes solid in winter, providing first rate ice skating (until it's covered in snow), and after the first snow, cross country skiing is also top notch on the lake and in the nearby woods. If downhill is your thing, Ski Big Bear is only about 20 minutes away. While you may never want to leave, there are a number of charming towns nearby with activities, eateries and shopping, that will provide fun outings.

Sticks and Stones is one of those exciting properties that exudes a personal style that is both engaging and welcoming, while providing plenty of comfort and opportunities for relaxation. Convenient to Barryville and Narrowsburg, both towns along the Delaware River receiving a bit of buzz these days, the property is tucked along a quiet road that affords views of a waterfall and its soothing audio, across the way. The property itself is an ongoing project for the owner, who has embellished the land with pretty stone walls, creative stickwork (some of which has made its way onto walls inside) and displays of found items and souvenirs. A pretty brook winds its way during most of the year through the hemlock forest behind the house and skirts the patio before continuing on its journey. A sweet café table and chairs is perched along its mossy bank for your afternoon tea. Inside the house is alive with texture, from the rough-sawn wood that makes up the sliding barn door in the living room, to the chunky wooden beams throughout, and the stone masonry on some of the walls, this house incorporates wonderful natural elements and pairs them with punches of color among the comfortable furnishings and interesting accents. The seating area in the living room is made extra-toasty with a cast-iron wood stove, and that wonderful barn door leads to the pleasantly proportioned master bedroom beyond. A round dining table near the kitchen provides your indoor option for meals, as well as a couple spots with barstools, while the warmer months will lure you outside. The kitchen is simply appointed, with oodles of charm, and is an easy and delightful space in which to prepare your feasts. Upstairs the second bedroom, tucked under the eaves, has a pleasing seating area, and a door to a balcony overlooking the lush grounds. The house's bathroom is downstairs, and has a shower.
