The SpaceWe offer a comfortable master suite that includes a large private bedroom and bathroom with ample closet space and on site laundry. There is a brand new queen size bed with a gel/memory foam Casper mattress that sleeps two, and we can add an air mattress for a third person. There are lots of windows for natural light. The space has its own central AC/heat unit so guests can regulate the room's temperature. There is also an HDTV with WIFI in the bedroom. You are assured of genuine privacy since the master suite is on the far south side of the home away from all other bedrooms. Since we run an animal rescue out of our home, we keep a baby gate in the door to the room to prevent animals from entering, but you are more than welcome to invite the animals in, and even have them sleep with you. Guest AccessYou will have full use of our kitchen, living room with cable TV, WIFI, pool, and laundry. We have ample parking, including RV and trailer space, and a fully fenced 1 acre lot. Interaction with GuestsWe are wildlife biologists and are happy to share our knowledge of local flora and fauna. We are located just a few highway exits away from the border crossing at Los Algodones, Mexico, a hotspot for medical tourism. We can also direct you to local flavors and attractions. We will be home during your stay to answer any questions and to help you get to know the animals. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. We have distant neighbors on both sides of us, and the entire neighborhood is surrounded by agricultural fields. You can't beat the sunsets from our back porch! But please note that there are neighborhood roosters that may crow early in the morning. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation nearby, but shopping, restaurants, and even downtown are only a short drive away. You will need your own car while you are here. We have plenty of space for you to bring an RV or trailer. Other Things to NoteOur home is a rescue for geriatric and special needs animals that require specific care and attention. We are happy to let our guests assist with their care and spend quality time with them, but it is not expected as part of your stay. We allow guests to bring pets, but due to the fragility of our dogs, we can only allow guest dogs if they are friendly with other animals, calm, obedient, fully vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. Currently we have 12 dogs, 5 cats, 5 tortoises, 2 pigs, 11 hens, one rooster, one donkey, and one pony. All of them, except the pony, donkey, and chickens, use doggy doors to come in and out of the house. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE SHARING YOUR SPACE WITH ANIMALS, THEN THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT AIRBNB FOR YOU. But if you love animals, it will be a very special treat for you to stay with us.
