Chicago Bluesfest is the largest Blues festival in the world, attracting over 500,000 people and showcasing world-renowned Blues legends. If you are headed to Bluesfest this year, here are the answers to some FAQs for navigating Chicago’s largest music festival.

What are Bluesfest hours?
Millennium Park is open from 6am-11pm, and festival hours are 11am-9:30 pm, rain or shine.
Is there an admission fee for Chicago Bluesfest?
Chicago Bluesfest is and always has been free admission.
Can I bring food to Millennium Park?
Outside food is allowed in the park so pack a picnic; it’ll be nice to save a few bucks.
Can I purchase food in the park at Bluesfest?
Yes, try out the Bluesfest food vendors- Chicago cuisine does not disappoint. Food options will be available in the concessions tent at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, as well as Chase Promenade and McCormick Tribune Plaza.
Am I allowed to bring chairs to the festival?
Of course. Get comfy and bring a folding chair, which is allowed everywhere except Pritzker Pavilion.
What items are prohibited from the festival grounds?
Prohibited items include outside alcohol, animals, and recording devices
How do I get to Millennium Park?
There are some shuttles constantly leaving to the venue. Also, Public Transportation, biking or walking are nice options as the weather is typically mild.
Where should I stay if I’m going to Bluesfest?
Stay at the official Bluesfest hotel and be within walking distance of the park.
When do the festival headliners go on?
Headliners go on every evening at 5 pm at Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
What is there to do after the festival ends? Is there an afterparty?
