As a Texas native would say, “Dallas has more hotels with rooftop pools than you can shake a stick at.” Translation: there are a lot of rooftop pools in Dallas. If you’re looking to escape the summer heat, there’s nothing better than diving into an infinity pool perched above the skyline. Plus, with other amenities like barbecues, lounge areas, cocktail bars, movie nights, and live music events, Dallas’ rooftop pools are a scene entirely in their own right. Here’s our hand-picked selection of the best Dallas hotels with rooftop pools.
If you’re looking to experience Texas luxury in it’s finest form, make your way to the hotel that has recently undergone a $30 million dollar renovation. The Hotel Crescent Court is located less than a five-minute drive from downtown Dallas, and within walking distance of the country’s largest art district — but it’s not just the location that makes this place shine. The rooms boast lavish amenities, huge comfy beds, and some suites are even two stories high. The wellness centers include a 22,000 square foot spa and fitness center, and a beautiful rooftop pool with lounge chairs. Just know beforehand that the pool is only open to registered hotel guests and not to the public.

While not as extravagant as the 5-star Hotel Crescent, the Lumen is a renovated boutique hotel that used to be a quaint and charming 1960s motel. It’s gone through some significant facelifts but it still retains that mid-century charm. As far as its location, it’s situated just across the street from Southern Methodist University, so it makes for a great spot for a football game, a graduation, or any university-based event. The outdoor pool is decked out with cabana-style lounges, and there’s an outdoor bar serving up poolside cocktails and juices. The Lumen’s pool is closed during the winter and is generally open from spring until fall. It’s also just a quick drive to Zaap Kitchen, which deserves a spot on your Culinary Trip of Texas Food.

For a spot in the heart of downtown Dallas, consider the Omni. Cutting straight to chase — the heated outdoor terrace swimming pool offers stunning views of the entire downtown skyline. There’s a seasonal fire pit (for when it isn’t 100 degrees outside), and the entire area is open from 7:00 am until 10:00 pm. Right next to the pool there’s an outdoor eatery serving up seasonal eats, and a full bar decked out with HDTVs, perfect for viewing any kind of game or event.

The Joule is undoubtedly one of the most artistic hotels in all of Dallas. The feng shui is modern, abstract, and fully-equipped with paintings and murals that deserve their own exhibits. What was once a 1920’s-era neo-Gothic landmark building is now one of the best hotels in the city. The Joule also hosts hip retail boutiques, a spa and wellness center, and an outdoor swimming pool. The pool is extremely unique in that a section of it hangs over the edge of the hotel. Swim up to the transparent glass and peer down at the entire city below. Access to the pool is limited to hotel guests, but staying overnight is worth experiencing one of the coolest pools in Dallas.

Located out in the suburb district of Dallas, the Westin is a great option for conferences, work events, or any type of trip where your location within the city isn’t at a premium. There’s an entire shopping center, a fitness center, a sun terrace that makes for an excellent pool party, and an outdoor pool. If you’re staying at the Westin Galleria, you really won’t need to leave the hotel. There are walls surrounding the pool that block most views, but the spacious lounge area and wet deck make up for any downsides.

The Fairmont is another great option for those looking to vacation in the heart of the city. It’s located in the arts district within walking distance from tons of restaurants, a few blocks from the business district, and within a stone’s throw of Dallas’ great museums (all on our list of the Top 10 Things to Do in Dallas). It’s an elegant option, but it also has some particularly traditional Texas flare. The Fairmont stays true to the claim that ‘everything is bigger in Texas’. The ballroom is massive with looming chandeliers, and the outdoor pool is Junior Olympic sized, so feel free to get your exercise in the pool. They also host “dive-in movies” every so often, where you can sprawl out on a lounge chair or watch a movie from a floatie in the pool.

For those looking for a more Vegas-style nightlife pool experience, Hotel Zaza is your best bet. There are DJ’s spinning house tracks, plush seating areas, a lawn, and plenty of lush trees. The entire area is 21+ after 10:00 pm, so it’s a great evening option for hot summer nights. Accommodations range from the dazzling ‘Magnificent Seven’ suites — with themes like Crouching Tiger and the Rock Star suite — bungalow suites, and traditional guest suites. Oh, and did we mention that Hotel Zaza is also pet-friendly?
