Whether you’re a water park aficionado or a novice, there’s no denying it — water parks are incredibly fun. From whizzing down adrenaline-inducing water slides, to tubing, and splashing around with the kids in a pool, there’s so much to do at an aquatic park. Indiana is home to several awesome water parks, so grab your swimsuit, here are the best water parks in Indiana!

1. Deep River Waterpark, Crown Point

Deep River Waterpark in Crown Point will have you splashing around with joy. The park is the perfect place for a weekend of fun with the family, and you’ll find everything from tube rides through to adventurous slides. There are great children’s swimming pools, including a wave pool (in case you’re missing the natural feeling of the ocean), and you can also kick back on an 800-foot lazy river after a long day of fun. For thrill-seekers, head to The Dragon, which is a “free-fall” speed slide where some people reach a speed of up to 35 miles-per-hour; the Double Dueling Cannon Bowl Ride, a dueling bowl tube rides; or The Storm, which is a slide starting from a five-storey high platform; or the Kraken which is an exhilarating set of slides. As with most outdoor waterparks, Deep River Waterpark is an open seasonally, so be sure to check dates.

2. Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, Kokomo

The Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center in Kokomo will provide you with hours of waterpark fun. The park has everything from lap swimming pools, to kid pools, and a splash pad with jets. There are also fun tube and body slides for those looking for a thrill. It’s got a great food court for when you’ve worked up an appetite.

3. Monon Community Center, Carmel

The waterpark at Monon Community Center in Carmel is home to three adrenaline-pumping water slides. When it’s time to relax, there’s a long, lazy river you can gently glide down. There’s also a surfboard simulator — which is great if you haven’t quite mastered the real thing. The park is home to several swimming pools, all of which are heated. For more watery fun why not go kayaking in Indiana? Or if you prefer to feel the firm ground under your feet, you can also go hiking in Indiana.

4.  Splash Island Outdoor Water Park, Plainfield

The epic Splash Island Outdoor Water Park in Plainfield is home to over four acres of enormous pools, tons of family fun and awesome water rides. The park features a fun tropical theme — who said you need the Caribbean when you have Splash Island? There are three slides, a children’s area with smaller slides, and zero-depth entry pools for the very little ones. You can also find basketball courts in the pool, swimming lanes and two diving boards. When it’s time to kick back, grab a tube and spend an hour on the lazy river. The park is also home to large grassy areas, where you can have a picnic with the family or catch some rays.

5.  Pine Lake Waterpark, Fort Wayne

Pine Lake Waterpark in Berne is one of the more natural waterparks, thanks to its lakeside location. The park lies on the refreshingly cool lake waters in Berne, and there are slides and rides for all ages. At the park, you’ll find kid-friendly slides, and slides for your own inner ‘big kid’. The park’s highlight is a cable rider where you can zip off from a launch pad and drop into the lake.

6. Freedom Springs Park, Greenworld

Freedom Springs Park in Greenwood is full of adrenaline-pumping rides and slides, alongside a great children’s area. In the kids’ area, you’ll find shallow pools and interactive features. For adults, there are fun slides and an overhead rope crossing if you want to test your agility.

7. Big Splash Adventure, French Lick

The Big Splash Adventure in French Lick is open year-round, so there’s no excuse to miss out on aquatic fun. It’s a half-indoor, half-outdoor waterpark full of fun themed pools and slides. For kids, there’s the pirate-themed Buccaneer Bay, which is filled with interactive activities. There are also large play pools for all to enjoy.

Garfield Park Aquatic Center in Indianapolis is proudly the oldest water park in the state, boasting over 100 years of history. It’s also one of the most simple, but don’t let that put you off.
