Step one: pack nothing but your driver’s license, a toothbrush, snacks, and some high-SPF sunscreen. Step two: get in (or rent) your RV and head to one of these liberating nudist RV resorts. Awaiting you are pools, clubhouses, pristine hiking trails, and spas, all filled with other like-minded folks looking for a clothing-optional getaway. With more comforts and amenities than traditional camping, RV camping is already a great time — but why not try it in the buff? From the northeast to the southwest, here’s our selection of the best nudist RV resorts in the U.S.
Located on an 11-acre patch of grasslands in Hudson, Florida, Eden RV Resort is a clothing-optional oasis away from the hustle and bustle of society. Ditch your assumptions about what a nudist RV resort looks like before heading to Eden, as they have all kinds of activities that will surprise you. Tennis courts, bocce ball, naked karaoke, and swimming are all on the agenda. First-time visitors are required to bring a photo ID and a background check, so you know there won’t be anyone with suspicious intentions.
Visiting Hidden Ranch Resort is like stepping into an entirely new stress-free environment. Situated along the St. Mary’s river just 30 miles west of Tampa, this hidden gem offers 88 acres of ideal seclusion; plus, it’s endorsed by the American Association for Nude Recreation. Suitable for couples and singles alike, Hidden Ranch’s amenities include an outdoor kitchen, full 30 and 50-amp RV sites, a bike trail, and a long stretch of beach along the St. Mary’s River. When you head back to Tampa, we highly recommend this 1.5 Hour Dolphin Cruise for just $30.
The adults-only Purple Peacock Resort in Palestine, Texas is an idyllic little patch of countryside filled with rolling hills, trees, fountains, and more. There are tent sites and camping amenities if you’re feeling more rugged, but otherwise, stick to your RV and make use of their provided linens, bath towels, and pillows. Pets are allowed at Purple Peacock, but they do not sell any food on the premises. Be sure to stock up in Palestine on your way into the resort.
When it comes to clothing optional resorts in Arizona, Shangri La Ranch takes the cake. Although they are a naturist resort, they’re also a family-friendly resort that welcomes anyone interested in naturism.
With full RV sites, tent sites, motel rooms, and cabins all available to guests, this is one of the most well built-up destinations on our list. Inside the clubhouse, you’ll find fireplaces, dancefloors, conference centers, a library, and tons of board games. Outside you will be able to make use of the pools, volleyball courts (and water volleyball), pickleball, basketball, and horseshoes. Annual membership rates start at $400 for singles and $600 for couples, but the nightly rate is just $10.
Located just north of the Texas town of Decatur, Wildwood Naturist Resort boasts 118 acres of facilities and green spaces where couples, singles, and families can have a clothing-optional getaway. The RV camping starts at $35, but you can also opt for a cabin for $100 per night. Wildwood is famously home to the Skinnydipper Sun Run and the 5k cross country course where runners can get as aerodynamic as possible. Come to think of it, visiting a nudist RV resort in Texas deserves a spot on The Big Ole Texas Bucket List.
Just 70 miles from the beaches of San Diego lies the hidden hideaway of DeAnza Springs. It’s a motel, an RV park, a cultural center, and is all clothing-optional. Here you’ll find a fitness center, scenic hiking, biking, tennis, and more. With its proximity to LA and San Diego, DeAnza is a place where you should consider getting an annual membership. For $250 per year, you can have access to their pool spas, hot tubs, and all other amenities whenever you’d like.
Whoever said a nudist RV resort needs to be located in a desert climate? The Sequoians is out to shatter that stereotype, and once you’re frolicking buff-naked among giant sequoia trees, you’ll be a quick convert.
The Sequoians doesn’t advertise itself as a resort or a campground, but rather as a social nude membership club. It’s a cooperative organization, meaning that it’s member-run and the resources are pooled together to make for the best experience for everyone. It’s been open for over 70 years, and each year it opens from about April to October.
Those who have to suffer through months of a cold winter climate tend to be a little more enthusiastic once the summer rolls around. The Berkshire Vista Resort in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusettes is no exception. Every spring, thousands of people flock to their beautiful grounds nestled among some of New England’s best evergreen forests.
We highly recommend visiting for some of the concerts they have scheduled on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. In general, although it’ll be a bit colder, visiting during the fall foliage is easily the prettiest time to head to Berkshire. After all, Massachusettes is one of the Best States to Instagram Fall Leaves.
Sunny Haven prides itself on being consistently regarded as one of the finest and friendliest nudist parks in the Midwest. What started as a modest backyard project on a pristine section of land in Indiana has grown to become one of the most thriving naturist communities in the midwest. The social and recreational centerpiece of Sunny Haven is the large heated pool. Adjacent to the pool you’ll find a sauna, hot tub, and a miniten court (a portmanteau for “mini tennis” a sport created by naturists).
