← Back to ‘Nudist Travel – Tips, Tricks and the Skinny of Baring it All on Vacation`
The Lone Star State is known for many things, one being the scorching heat that cooks its cities and open plains from border to border. Sometimes that heat reaches the point where even a t-shirt feels like a winter coat and sweat stains become part of your everyday look. So why not do away with the suffocating clothes on your back and go on a weekend getaway in your most natural state? There are plenty of nudist resorts throughout the great state of Texas waiting to set you up poolside and help you connect with other naturists looking for a short clothing optional vacation. We’ve done the research and come up with a list of the top nudist resorts in Texas so you can forget about checking yourself for sweat stains and start enjoying a little time away from your clothes and the stress of everyday life.
Wildwood Naturist Resort – Decatur
Wildwood is for the more physically active nudists out there. Set on almost 120 acres of rural Texas land, spending time in the great outdoors is a priority here. With plenty of hiking and walking trails that wind through the property, guests will have no problem getting some fresh air. There’s even a three-mile cross-country course for those looking to step it up a notch from the hiking. Back at the main campsite, you’ll find activities like water volleyball and horseshoes. Of course, you can always lounge around the pool as well.
Sandpipers Resort – Edinburg
Located deep in South Texas not far from the Mexican border, Sandpiper’s is a nudist resort that many enjoy so much, they decide to make it their winter home. A neat, extremely well-kept property dotted with palm trees, swimming pool, tennis courts, small homes and RV’s, Sandpipers is almost like a small town. Here you’ll find a wealth of activities and a tight-knit community. The only catch is that most residents are there for the winter season, so drop-ins are not welcome. Be sure to call ahead and reserve your spot.
Emerald Lake Resort – Porter
Tired of the same old pool and hot tub nudist routine? Emerald Lake is more of a natural take on the naturalist movement. Rent a cabin right on the lake shore and work on your golf swing as you hit buckets into the water. You can grab a kayak or small boat and explore the lake or try your hand at fishing for bass and catfish. And if having a pool and hot tub is a must for you, both are available. The whole property is gorgeous and offers perhaps the most beautiful clothing- optional setting in the state.
Purple Peacock Resort, Palestine
Set among rolling hills and beautiful forest, Purple Peacock RV resort is an excellent way to get away from city stress and enjoy Texas nature. The staff is also quite creative with planning resort events — from shrimp boils to Fourth of July celebrations, they cover it all. There’s also an appealing pool and hot tub area for soaking up some rays.
