← Back to ‘Discover the Best Things to Do, Everywhere’

The college football championship game is a good reason to make your way to the city of Atlanta, but it shouldn’t be your only reason. Atlanta is full of attractions, museums, and sights that will make your trip to the CFB game worthwhile, win or lose. Here is your Atlanta guide from AllTheRooms, from what to see and do to where to stay.

The Coca-Cola Factory is a highly-visited tourist attraction in the city of Atlanta. Located in Underground Station, the factory has welcomed millions of visitors over the past 25 years. You’ll find a 4D theatre, exhibits with Coca-Cola artifacts, tasting rooms and samples, get a behind-the-scenes look at the bottling process, and even get to take a picture with the famous Polar Bear.

The Georgia Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world; locals and out-of-towners alike rave about this attraction. Take a VR ride through the sea, view the underwater world in a 4D tunnel, meet dolphins face-to-face, and watch the wildlife through underwater webcams. Jellyfish, whales, penguins, exotic fish: you’ll find it all here. It’s known as one of the best aquariums in the nation, not something you’d want to miss.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

USA Today calls Atlanta’s Botanical Garden one of the top botanical gardens in the country. The most beautiful botany in the state of Georgia (and maybe even beyond) lives here. The garden features a wide variety of exotic plants and flowers creating a unique ecosystem in Georgia’s capital city. Not to mention, the dozens of special events that occur throughout the year, from wine in the garden to plant sales, glamorous balls, chef demos and more.

Inman Park

Inman Park is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods and has retained its historical significance as the first suburban neighborhood and first electric trolley neighborhood in the city. Inman Park was built on top of a civil war battlefield in an effort to restore the area. Today, the neighborhood flourishes with a vast, green landscape and beautiful Victorian homes. If you want to get a feel for the city of Atlanta, you have to visit this area.

College Football Hall of Fame

This is what you came for, right? From interactive exhibits to memorial shrines, this is a college football fan’s dream. The museum is 45,000 square feet and includes an indoor playing field and obstacle course, a three-story wall filled with helmets, and memorabilia from every great historical moment in college football. Just across the street, you’ll find the CNN Center and Centennial Park, both places worth checking out.

What To Do in Atlanta

Take a Bike Ride on the Beltline

The Beltline is an old railroad corridor turned multiuse trail that circumvents the city of Atlanta. The track links several neighborhoods, parks and green spaces in the city. A bike ride around the Beltline will give you the most scenic and comprehensive tour of the city. Along the way, you can stop at the Arboretum, visit the Fourth Ward Skate Park, or veer off onto any one of the dozens of trails.

Spend a Day in Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is 170 acres of green space where you can easily spend an entire day getting lost in the markets, joining in the sporting activities or relaxing under the sun. The park features a Green Market with fresh, local produce and artisan goods, a sports field, playgrounds, a dog park, organized fitness events, a 9,000-square foot Aquatic Center, and plenty of space to lounge around. It’s the perfect place to unwind after leaving the rowdy stadium.
