Where to Stay at Coachella (If You’re Not the Camping Type)

← Back to ‘Your Survival Guide For Festivals and Conventions’

Now that you have your Coachella passes, there is one important question you must ask yourself: where to stay? There’s always the option to camp out on the festival grounds and join in on the endless party and sleepless nights. Porta-potties, shower lines—all part of the authentic Coachella camping experience.

And then there are those of us who aren’t too keen on braving the wilderness in between festival days. If you want to enjoy all that Coachella has to offer sans the camping part, check out some of these accommodations that are still available to rent for Weekend One.

Budget Options: Under $150 per Night

1. Mediterranean-Inspired Vacation Villa

This spot is definitely a trek from the Empire Polo Grounds; about an hour drive. But the accommodation in Borrego Springs may be about as good of a bargain you can find this close to the festival. Costing only $92 per night for the full house, and able to be occupied by six people, what you spend on gas and tickets is definitely going to be saved on accommodations.

2. Desert Star Lounge

Rent this single bedroom with a private bath that sleeps 2 on a queen size bed. The rental features an outdoor pool, WiFi and all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. This modern home features a large shared kitchen, yoga room, pole dance stage and even a disco lounge. How’s that for excitement?

Mid-Range Budget: $150-400 per Night

1. Cabin Rental Near Joshua Tree

Quirky in a way that can really only be found in the wide open expanses of the American West, this cabin exudes kitsch and charm with its mismatching decorations, heavy wood and brick features, and rusty patio furniture. Joshua Tree National Park and this cabin have the distinct advantage of providing an amazing backdrop for pre festival photos to show off flashy outfits.

2. Caliente Tropics Hotel

Is your idea of a Coachella cool down sipping cocktails out of a Tiki mug before going back to the festival grounds the next day? Well do we have the place for you. Still available for Weekend One, the Caliente Tropics Hotel is a Hawaiian themed haunt whose claim to fame is that Elvis stayed there once. In nearby Palm Springs, expect to meet other festival goers and maybe get ready for a pool party.

Balling Out: Over $500 per Night

1. Grand Ole Polo Estate

Gather as many friends and as much of your savings as possible because this bad boy is listed on our site for $20,000 per night. Yep you read that right. The house itself can hold up to 20 people so we guess that makes the price (kinda) doable. Those who can cough up the cash can frolic in a 1,500 square foot pool, detox in the spa, and play volleyball on their sand court.

2. Ultimate Coachella Luxury Retreat

Don’t be fooled this spot is cheaper than our last entry, but definitely expect to be paying the “Coachella Price”. This home though is special and within walking distance to Coachella. The best way to take advantage of this desert getaway is to enjoy its outdoor space during the warm springs in Coachella Valley. Outside the home has a seating area and outdoor TV that is cooled off by misters. Even better is the salt water pool that have slightly submerged lounge chairs and an LED lighting system to keep the party going into the night.

Note: Demand is very high for Coachella, book in advance as soon as possible. Happy camping(ish)!
